Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 61F and headed to 78F today. I think the rain is done for awhile. Yesterday I ended up doing the platform in wood. It's so thin that I didn't think a "concrete" dock would work and break easily. I also went to Lowe's to get a piece of green foam for the diorama base.

Today I'll fit the structures on the base, cut it and paint it brown. I was hoping to spray it but on the open sides the spray paint melts the foam.

Jim I've lost a couple of posts recently, but that's probably due to ooperator error.

Larry The new chapter is a great segway to the actual mission.

Rick I hope your hike is a great one.

Another picture of Ti sleeping next to me. Note: she sleeps with her eyes open.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Good Morning Everyone;

Just checking to see how site is operating, and while here grabbing a great cup of coffee, thanks Curt. So far I have heard of a couple of glitches but not sure if it is the site or communication providers. Will just wait to see how things go I guess.

Woke up to cool very nice weather while the weather said rain. I have a modeling group coming over later so that will be fun. Well off for another cup of coffee, have a great day!

Good morning everyone.

44 now at GCNP, cloudy and 65 later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Cute picture.

Didn't set up the Starlink last night so I'm keeping it short today.
I was just too tired.
I did my hike.
15.5 miles and 3,517' of EG.
This was a tough one and pushed me to my limit.

Leaving the area today and I'll start heading to Utah which will take 3 or 4 days.

Have a great day everyone.

Jerry

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Looking forward to the update.
To looks very happy sleeping there.

Larry hope you make the bench.
I just started reading the adventure again.
I need to go back and get caught up.

Jim have fun with the group today.
And no problems here with the site.

Rick that was a long hike.
Be safe driving.

Weather in South Jersey P. sunny/48.  Later on 64.
Could be a nice day day for a change.
We have thigs to do in the yard first thing today.
Then later maybe some time at the bench.  Not making much progress there.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

40o and rain sending me to the bench or down to the layout.

I mowed yesterday and spend several trips out with the mowing machine chasing 3 black ducks the (&^^%$* "neighbor" lets run wild.  The blasted things nest, lay eggs and then their resident skunk comes over and plays with the eggs in the yard. IMG_3465.jpeg >:(  The cute little stinker has rolled the egg here about 15-20 feet from where it was "dropped" under an old piece of farm equipment, turd hurler, we have.
The Doll has spoken with the Fairy Queen and she has tried to do something constructive with the ducks.  Their rooster made 2-3 trips over here as well lately.  He just might  make a good roast or batch of soup sometime.  ::)  I have enough mess here from ground hogs and squirrels.  Don't need the neighbors.

Been making nit picky progress with the bridge site on the layout and have a loco project moving along at the tortoise's pace.  When unsure of myself I wander off into the U-toob realm and veg...been a good winter for taters..

All I have this morning.  Best to the wife, Ron.  Mike, the sinus stuff is rampant here these days, stock in Kimberly Clark ought to be climbing.  Hell of a hike, Rick. Curt, I've a playmate up here for your "lap 'dog'"

Jim only issues with the forum I have, have been self inflicted, failing to SAVE or POST after a PREVIEW is the most prevalent.

All I gots...be well, stay safe!

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Good luck with the base.

Jim, the 3D print looks terrific.  Excellent combination of tools. Wishing you loads of fun with the modeling group.

Rick, that was some hike, wow.  Did Star accompany you?  Safe travels to Utah.

Jerry, hope the weather holds, and you get some vitamin D.

Karl, sounds like a mess with visitors, but I might be tempted to make Peking duck...

How is the rest of the crew?

IT's a bright breezy morning at 69°F, headed to 73°F.  I slept well last night for the first time in several days.  The right eye is healing well.  Medicines are helping with cold-like symptoms.  I won't make it upstairs again today.

Jim, I've had several issues with lost posts, but the issues were caused by me.  The forum seems to be working well.  Thank you.

Have fun,
mike

Skunks love eggs and peanut butter.  When I was on Boy Scout camp staff, we'd prank other guys by breaking an egg and smearing peanut butter around their tent.  That would bring 'nighttime visitors'.  And once I remember a thunderstorm.  I heard some snuffling, and in the flashes of lightning, I watched a skunk come into my tent, do a couple of loops and settle down to sleep out of the rain.  He was gone when I woke up that morning (thankfully!)

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out here at 60F and heading to the low 80's. Yesterday I cut out and painted the diorama base color WS Earth. Today I'll permanently attach the main building complex to the base. This will allow me to finish the platforms and overhangs.

The construction phase of the project is starting to wind down and the details phase will be starting up.

Rick Congrats on your personal best.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

45 in Flagstaff, a mix of sun, clouds and wind later with a 64.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Since you're putting this build on a base, will it be going on the layout?
No PB's on that hike.
I've hiked further and climbed more on other hikes.

Mike, dogs are not allowed on hikes into the canyon.
There is one trail that stays along the rim and dog are permitted on it.
Glad you are starting to feel better.

Karl, good fences made good neighbors.

Jim, nice to see you here in the lounge.

How's everyone else?

First time I'm experiencing sore legs after a hike.
Otherwise I feel great and have no trouble getting around.
Today will be another day of just driving towards St. George, UT.

This is O'Neill Butte.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt, much appreciated.

I've been AWOL for a few days. Been very tired and have no interest in modeling. I think the yard work took some of my energy. I've spent a lot of time just relaxing and reading lately. I think I just have to many projects going, hobby and 1:1 stuff, and I don't want to do any of them.  8)

Today I'm spending the day with Pam and plan on getting back to the bench on Monday or tomorrow.

Have a productive and safe day everyone.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and vittles. Enoy your time at the bench.

Rick great photo and hope the soreness leaves the legs soon. Safe travels.

Tom nothing wrong with taking a modeling break every now and then. Enjoy your day with Pam.

What's your plans for the day.

It's a cloudy 40 with a high of 48 here. Our Daughter's coming for dinner today since last Sunday she was sick. Maybe some bench time this am. Was supposed to have a new garage door installed today but the only thing shipped was the hardware; no door panels until May 18th.

Have a great day!! Be well and safe travels.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Congrats on the base construction.  Oh, those details...

Rick, ouch on the sore legs.  That's surprising given how much you hike.  St George is a cool place.

Tom, I have experienced the same feelings lately.  Hope you enjoy your day with Pam.

Larry, bummer about the door.  Wishing you a fantastic day with your daughter.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning at 52°F, headed to 79°F.  I'm feeling better today and hope to get up for a while.  I procrastinated doing taxes, so that's on the agenda when I feel like it.

Have fun,
mike

There is hard frost still here in the shadows, which means there is SUN  8) today to make the shadows.  Going to the mid 50s if the prognostication is accurate.  Several days of rain to follow.

Scenery on the layout yesterday and working on the trestle base/foundation to make things fit is ongoing.  We have the #1 grand babe coming over shortly.  :D Always a bright time.  Son-in-law's father is very ill and we're on edge over that.

Nice shot of the Canyon, Rick.  Neat place to go.  We went a few years ago, took the train from Williams that was entertaining.  I found the HAZE "filter" in my Photoshop Elements was helpful in post processing.

Tom and Mike, I get that way daily, sometimes I realize I have to plug away or another winter will be history as will work slots on the task list and force myself to get going then wish I'd just dig in.  Lots of time for paint drying... ::)

Time to run, enjoy the day everyone.

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Looking forward to the update.
Do skunks always sleep with there eyes opened??????

Rick great picture.
I can't believe your legs are sore with all the hiking you do!  Must be a little old age creeping in!! ;D

Tom have a nice day with Pam.

Larry what good are the hinges without the doors?  Have a nice day with your daughter.

Mike glad your feeling better.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/59.  Later on 64.
Not sure what I'm doing today.
Bench time later in the day for an hour or so.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)
