Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Hope you get your stuff done today. Cool photo of the mules. I believe they are more "sure footed" than a horse is; ya just gotta to keep them moving.

What's your plans for the day?

It's a cloudy 60 with a high 73 and rain's heading our way; gonna rain most of the week. I broke down and ordered some stair stringers from Wiseman for the Mercantile. Some grocery shopping shortly and probably will stop at the Cemetery and check out the family plot; it's on the way. After that maybe some bench time.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Good morning,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Good luck with the tire repair.

Larry, good luck with the stairs. Nice to have the family plot nearby.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a hazy morning at 54°F, headed to 86°F. First up is a cataract pre-op doctor's appointment for my right eye, this afternoon, I get the stitches over my right eye removed. I didn't make it to the bench yesterday, but watched the Masters instead.  Maybe this afternoon.

Have fun,
mike

Rick asked which Scotch I liked best.  Port Charlotte has been doing a series of releases (like many other distillers) where they feature a specific kind of cask.  We had 2 of those, along with their regular Port Charlotte 10.  I liked the Syrah cask the best.  https://www.bruichladdich.com/products/port-charlotte-syc-01  We also had that Octomore heavily peated Scotch.  That's very good, a lot going on there.  But, since the base Port Charlotte 10 was my bottle and it's almost gone, I went back and bought another bottle of that, since it's on sale right now in NH Liquor stores.  My conclusion was that the SYR01 was not 2-3 times better than the base 10, even though it was 2-3 times the price.  And the Octomore was a lot more expensive than the SYR01.

The Port Charlotte 10 is probably the favorite of our entire group.  There are many better malts, but we always come back to that one as our starting point.

Afternoon All,

Back from the chauffering duties. The second appointment that Dad said was today is actually May 13th. ::)  :-X. Tomorrow is spent chauffering again.

Wednesday I'll probably be able to get to the workbench. Zero energy today.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening everyone,

Thought I would stop in and give an update.  First off, thanks for all the good wishes.  The Mrs is still in the hospital but is improving.  They figured out what was causing the low oxygen issue.  It was due to high CO2 levels as a byproduct of the operation.

As a result there has been no modeling nor do I think there will be in the next couple of days.

Have a good evening everyone.

Good morning, all, headed out shortly so I'll leave a last bowl of Cortlands on the counter to get you started (my local orchard has run out of its 2025 crop).  Hazy sun and high 50s in the lower Merrimack Valley now, chance of rain goes up late afternoon.

Glad to hear good news, Ron.  I'm off to Seashore to make the gas-engine welder work, then weld some rail bonds.  Non-electric RRs only bond the rail joints where signals are installed, but electric traction requires much larger bonds on all track.

Good Morning,

The morning beverages are all set to go. Breakfast is homemade biscuits with sausage gravy and hash browns on the side.

Ron great news concerning the Mrs; hope she's able to come home soon.

jvbv thanks for the Cortlands and have safe travels.

What's on your agenda?

It's a cloudy 55 with a high of 72 and rain at some point. Would like to do some work outside but not in the rain. Never made it to the bench yesterday or maybe today. They started tearing down the old house across the street yesterday and back today; should be interesting since the new house is very close to it; hope they know what they're doing.

Have a great day!! Be well.

60s and rain this morning.  Threat of severe stuff later in the day.

Yard work took the day and energy yesterday.  Finished taking the snow blower off the John Deere and hung the bracketry for the mowing deck.  Had a visit from Geek squad.  She is going to have a gourd patch in the area behind the pines and was out to stake out the area.  The plan is to see if the area plow guy can work it up for her.

Glad to hear they have the wife's status in hand, Ron.  Guess you will have some Mr. MOM duties for awhile.

My son called about sunset last night, he was freaked out as a sudden fast moving hail storm had hit his place, 20mi NE of me, and he has 2 cars parked outside he was worrying about.  Hail stones were a size between a nickle and quarter.

No word today on what he's found once the sun light returned.  He has a Tesla that is aluminum skinned and he was quite worried about it.  :o

Bench time looks like a strong possibility.

Double yoke for breakfast this morning.

Be well all.

Rick

Good morning everyone.

42 in Virgin, 62 with some sun and clouds and a chance of a little more rain.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and have fun eating the demo.

Karl, hope your son's cars are OK.

Philip, good morning mister green thumbs.

James, thanks for the apple and hope the welding goes well.

Ron, glad they figured out the problem and hope they can correct it quickly so your wife can come home.

Curt, hope the chauffeuring goes well.

Jerry, did someone say picture?

ACLTom, I was happy to see you return to the bench.

Mike, did the stitches come out?

How's everyone else doing?

Got all the chores done yesterday and headed towards the next two hikes I have planned.
I'm maybe 10 miles from Zion NP but the hikes will be outside the park to avoid the crowds and Star will be able to go.
Was going to do one hike today but there was light rain all night and maybe a little more later so I might just wait till tomorrow.

Looking down into the Grand Canyon near the start of one of my hikes.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning,

James, thanks for opening and the apple.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.  Good luck to the demolition crew.

Philip, how does your garden grow?

Karl, good luck to the gourd gardener. Glad your son avoided big hailstones.

How is the rest of the crew?

Thanks for your well wishes.  I had 12 stitches removed yesterday, painlessly.  I'm still fighting a sinus infection.  Tonight is lodge.  Maybe I'll make it upstairs today.

Have fun,
mike
