Good Morning Folks;

Many thanks to Tom, Curt and Greg for having the Village gang I am a part of visit to see Tom's wonderful layout and of course the BSing that makes the day fly by. The guys from the Villages were very impressed with the layout and more the modeling knowledge of the Orlando 'gang'. As we walked around I heard a lot of 'man look at that!" Tom has really built a layout that is fun to look at, impressing in complexity and ever growing. We extended an invitation to the Orlando gang to come up and visit us in the Villages. A couple of our group have very nice layouts in progress as well and it is a great excuse to gather and BS again. Tom was a very gracious host as always, thanks again Tom.

Since Tom already shared some photos of the gangs I thought I would post a photo of one of the buildings on Tom's layout I really like. When I grow up I want to model as good as he does!

Morning again,

Well, half of my post went missing. Not sure what I did, but no biggie.

Yes, we did have a great time yesterday. The crew from the Villages were a great bunch and we did in fact get into some heavy BSing. It was all train related.

I hope to update the Horwood thread later this afternoon.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Tom

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  There is nothing like dodging the shopping bullet!

Rick, your photos are always stunning.  Safe travels.

Tom, thanks for the photos.  The SBG sounds like it was a hoot.

Larry, hope the weather improves.  Good luck with the fill.

Jim, glad you had a good time at Tom's place.  Thanks for the photo.

Jerry, congrats on the door completion.

Karl, hope the weather improves up there.

Ron, congrats on the building completion.

Dave, good luck working on the layout.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a cool morning with a high forecast of 68°F.  Yesterday's car show was a success.  We raised a lot of money for the Children's Home.  Today I am exhausted, but I hope to make it upstairs.

Monday, I start the cataract surgery prep and have an annual physical. I'm still fighting a nasal infection, so I hope the doc can help with it.  Tuesday is cataract surgery day.  I'll be glad when this is over.

Have fun,
mike

It was really foggy when I got up.  I rushed to get the dogs out before the rain started, and it's supposed to rain most of the day.  That's OK, we really need the rain.  Temps are steady or dropping, below freezing by Tuesday with a chance of snow overnight Wednesday before the spring weather returns.

Yesterday I decided to do a chicken coop.  I said "I can do this in a day, using nothing but wood from my scrap bin."  The last hour was frustrating, the glue I was using didn't tack and set fast enough to support that plan.  But it dried tight overnight, so I'll finish it today and post some photos.

It is ICY Cold but sunny! 8)  here in MI this morning.

Daughter and son in law took us to eat yesterday we had a nice visit. Took a nap after then bench time working on a dcc installation.  Finish that today if i'm lucky.

Everyone have a good day.

Jerry

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Lucky you!!

Rick another great photo to start the day.
Have a safe drive.

Tom now that's a lot of guys for a Bsing session.  Thanks for the photos.

Larry maybe a bobat would be a good idea.  If that stuff is wet!

Morning Jim.  Nice picture of one of Tom's building.
I bet it was a fun day for you guys.

Tom looking forward to the update.

Mike looks like you had number of cars and trucks at the show.

Dave looking forward to the chicken coop.

Karl sounds like a nice visit.

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy with a chance of rain.
But 52 so the temp is not to bad.
I finished my yard work yesterday.

Building doors so when the framing is done I don't have to make them.
They take time to paint and put together.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good afternoon everyone.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt.  Got to love it when you can dodge a bullet.  Have fun working on the fence.

Rick, safe travels today.

Tom, looks like everyone had a great day yesterday.

Larry, you really need to rent the Bobcat, they are a blast to drive. 😊  Have fun at the bench today.

Jim, glad you and the gang had a great time at Tom's and you are right, he is a very gracious host.  When I visited last year when I was working in Jacksonville Tom and the gang made me feel like home and he does have one of the nicest layout's I've seen and I have seen a ton of layouts.

Mike, This is a nice collection of vintage cars.

Dave, If you need water we can sent you some, the river is up 6 more inches due to last weeks rain and that doesn't account for the spring thaw that is currently under way.  Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the chicken coop.

Karl, hope you get the DCC install completed.

Jerry, after making a bunch of doors for my challenge build, I agree with you, they do take time to make and paint.

Well summer lasted 2 days as the current temperature is 6c (42f) and overcast.  It's supposed to be cold for the next few days.  The Mrs. is moving around more and will probably be home in the next couple of days.  They are just waiting for her kidney functions to stabilize.  No modeling yesterday, but maybe some tonight while I watch the hockey game.  Next up is taking Gracie for a walk.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, OJ and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 68F and  breezy headed to a cooler 79F later. Yesterday I continued working on building the fence and should have it complete after another session.

Today after chores Dad has a dental appointment. At least it's only about 10 minutes away. I also hope to make it to the workbench today.

Ron hopefully your wife will come home today.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all.

I now have all of the structures largely built for the first block of my micro layout. Still some details and landscaping to go, as well as final, permanent installation.

Everyone have a good week!

Rick

Good morning everyone.

50 in Fillmore now, sun in the AM and clouds in the PM with a high of 73.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Glad you don't have a long drive today and enjoy your bench time.

Dave, nice job on the coop.

Ron, hope your wife continues to improve.

Jerry, any more bench progress?

Karl, DCC install done?

Mike, hope your prep and physical go well today.

ACLTom, I enjoyed yesterday's update.

Jim, glad you and your group had a great time at Tom's.
It's hard to pick just one building on the layout,  but you picked a very good one.

Larry, renting a bobcat is probably your best bet.

Had a change of plans yesterday.
Instead of waiting till today to hike, I did it yesterday.
Star and I did 5 miles on the Mammoth Crossing Loop Trail.
Then continued my trek towards SLC.
I'm only about 150 miles away.
Yesterday was first time since the war started I was able to get diesel under $5.
Gym this morning then I'll freelance the rest of the day.

Rattlesnake Peak on yesterday's hike.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Hope you make it to the bench.

Rick, wishing you a relaxing day.

Matt, those are nice-looking structures. The painting and brickwork are excellent.

Ron, good to hear your wife is improving.

Jerry, how did the door construction go?

Karl, sounds like a nice day with family.

Dave, good luck with the coop.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a cooler day forecast for 78°F.  Yesterday I worked on the depot structure details, adding a connection for power and telephone lines, and the semaphore on the front.

I'm off to the doctor's appointments.

Have fun,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. Good luck with dad today.

Its cool today with a nice sea breeze. Love this type of weather, not cold and not hot.

Rick very nice picture of a wide open space. Looks very peaceful.

Jim and Ron, thank you both for the nice compliment on the A&S RR.

My plan is to work a little on the Horwood Bros. build.

Have a very pleasant and safe day everyone.

Sun  8) and cold, after hard frost overnight.  No rain and some warmer in the forecast this week, 70s mid week.  Dry off is needed.

Rick asked, "Karl, DCC install done?" Nope, plugging away.  Small stuff takes a bit of concentration, trying to stay neat.  I'm blessed with steady hands, but spend a lot of time picking up dropped stuff. a lot... :-\  I put an on/off switch inline with the KeepAlive and that was an after thought.  Today working on lights, only 2 so should be "easy".  If my time was of any value, I'd be into a pretty big labor bill on this. IF new stuff comes along with sound installed it makes a ton of sense to buy it already installed, a ton.  But, rebuilt Proto I spent $29 at the used train store, not so painful.  Frustrating but fun.

Little to add today.

Be safe, enjoy!

Jerry

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Hope you make the bench today.

Matt beautiful looking buildings.

Rick nice picture.  It does look peaceful.
Have a nice day taking it easy.

Mike looking forward to your update.

Tom is sod all done yet??

Karl I hope the lights go easy for you.

Weather in South Jersey cloudy/48.  Later on 51.
The door making is going as planned but it is slow waiting for the glue to dry.
I've made four of them four more to go.
I figured it would be easier to make them now instead of waiting until the walls were done.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)
