Yep , the building cost me about 4 dollars , but just one combine or a set of tractors costs 2 -3 times  the the kit I used. Luckily rolling stock and engines are a lot cheaper in N-scale then in H0 , and structures are too but you need a lot more to fill a town or city scene.

I do like the way the building flats look--- nice coloring and layout of the structures. Is there anyway you could take a closer photo?

Finally did some work on the layout , inspired by Tom and his beautiful scenery, not as good as Tom's but practice makes .........

Just outside Clay Center the CC Elevator resides, I started working on the scenery for this part of the layout. First I filled the gap between backdrop and layout and built up a slope towards the fields using Plaster of Paris.

First layer of static grass.

More layers of static grass.

Added trees, some bought, some own built.

I love photo's, don't we all.

The garage and elevator fit right in.

Will have to cover up the space between curb and ground.

The road was done with styrene, spray painted with 3 different gray's.

So far so good , next up wiring and ballasting the track.
