Good morning from Wisconsin where any rain would be welcome. 61f degrees now heading to low 80's and continued dry.

We headed out Sunday on the I-94 east 45 minutes to an Arts and Craft show in a beautiful lake side town called Lake Mills. No show! Cancelled without notice. Terry checking her Wisconsin art show app and we were in the right place, day and time but no show

Taking the grandson to the newly opened Top Golf facility (opened 8/14 last Friday) at 10:15 for his weekly golf lesson. The pro teaching him is now on staff there. Then we will get lunch anywhere but McDonalds or Culver's his 2 favorites. When we get back grandma has a new outdoor honey do list for us. Since even if we start to build in September or October we probably will be here next Summer. She wants all the mulch, weeds and invasive grass removed from the planting beds from the 2 sides of the buildings here. We should be done by Friday depending on weather. I was wondering when she was going to request this!

I'm hopeful to get some bench time in after dinner. I sanded the pony truss bridge I built last week after the primer had some issues. A little splatter that easily sanded with a 600 grit. A warm beige is going over the ghost gray primer. There will be some weathering with just light spots of streaking rust from the rivets. I'd like to be done Wednesday evening. The back story is the bridge resides in the PNW east of Tacoma but west of Stevens Pass in Washington 1965. The Great Northern railroad supposedly maintained there bridges pretty well. So not much rust. Pictured below in place on temporary abutments that the owner is currently building

We've moved from the really nice weekend weather to a couple days of drizzle and humidity.  Temps aren't climbing up too far, though.  I did a bit of painting on rock strata yesterday, still waiting for some thick Sculptamold to dry.  It should be ready to work on today.

Howdy.

I'm scheduled for a training class at work. It starts in one hour. I've yet to receive the details to log in to the virtual resource for the instructor-led course. Sigh.... I miss the days of actual reality instead of virtual reality.

Hope everyone has a good start to their week. Stay cool. Its already in the 80's here.

Mowing and book keeping on tap for today.  I put some sticks in some alcohol/ink mix to soak a few hours, took them out before bed time to dry.  They might go on the dormant trestle project.

Cooler here by a bit yesterday.  It was brutally humid, for Michigan, yesterday.  The w(h)ine was vocal from the Doll.  :-\  S he e won, we're a couple hours up US-127 headed to Northern Command   8) passing Mt Pleasant where it's mostly sunny w/scattered cumulus clouds. Smile weather.

Later all.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, had fun at the bench.

Curt, you never want the week to be too exciting. 😊  Good luck at the bench.

Mike, hope your appointments go well.

TomO, the bridge scene will look great once completed.

Dave, hope your Sculptamold is dry enough to work on.

Jaime, hope you get the class details in time and good luck with the course.

Karl, Mowing and bookkeeping sounds fun, hope it all goes well.

Current weather here is 19c (67f) and overcast with rain in the forecast.  The Mrs. gave me a small to-do list when I came back from the grocery run :o that was based on some outdoor work that she wanted done so I spent the afternoon doing.  None of it was difficult, weeding the flower bed in front, trimming the ceder bush etc. It was actually pleasant as the weather was nice with a small breeze.

I did make it to the bench layout after dinner and started figuring out how I was going to plant the turntable.  Unfortunately, the existing hole is about 1/4" bigger than required so I had to cut out the existing foam base.  Because the new hole is an odd configuration, I made a pattern so I can cut the replacement foam required to mount the turntable in.  Hopefully work will continue on the project tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

TomO sounds like a pretty long list of honey-do's!!

Dave I hope your sculptamold is dried out.

Jaime sounds like a fun day well maybe not!!

Karl that's a hell of a combo.

Ron looking forward to the plant of the turntable.

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/75.  They say maybe rain/84.

With few cool days coming up I should be able to get tow work on my walls.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning everyone.

54 in Conifer, sun and clouds later with a high of 80.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Basic two eggs the way you like them, bacon and/or sausage patties with home fries for breakfast.

Jerry, hope you get to work on the walls.

Ron, make any progress with the foam and the hole?

Karl, safe travels.

Jamie, hope the training class was good.

Dave, is the sculptamold dry?

TomO, I can't see the picture.
Edit: After posting I can now see the pictures.
The bridge is looking good.

Mike, hope the eye and dental appointments went well.

Curt, hope you slept better and thanks for the Tom update.

Larry, I always find it funny at the grocery store check out when they ask if I found everything OK.

How's everyone else.

My attempted summit at Mount Sherman was a fail.
Got to within a few hundred feet and the trail got very rocky and I didn't feel comfortable doing it.  :-[
I feel bad now not trying it because everyone else did it.
Headed back towards civilization where I'll hit the gym and stock up on groceries and water at Costco and Walmart.
Treating myself to a pizza at lunch for the Elbert hike.

This is from the hike on the Mount Elbert Trail as the sun was coming up.

Rick thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Don't feel bad if you didn't feel comfortable doing it you made the right decision.

Nothing is getting done at the bench of late!!
But we will keep trying to get there.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. I agree with Jerry.....you wouldn't want to put yourself or Star in jeopardy; there'll be other trails to conquer. I get the same question when I grocery shop; sometime I'm going to say "no" just to get their reaction.

Jerry hope you make it to the bench today.

What's your plans?

It's a cloudy 69 with a high of 80. I have the rest of the diorama pretty much figured out so I'll continue on with that this am. After all the errands yesterday I'm staying put today.

Have a great and safe day!! Be well and stay cool.

Good morning. We should hit 80 today with a good breeze. Not much chance again of any rain today

Hurt myself at the Top Golf with the grandson yesterday. I broke a cardinal rule of golf! Warm up before hitting balls at any age but ESPECIALLY if you will be 74 soon. So dumb! Did feel something in the left hip pull and it was painful. This morning it's only painful trying to walk.

I can and will hobble to the bench in an hour or so. 3 of 5 projects going I can work on. Continue the birch tree assembly. Start and hopefully finish the weathering of the pony truss bridge and glue on the 2" foam to a 22" x 44" frame for a MOW project.

I will skip the grocery store with Terry today but she will stop at Michael's for my order. More tree materials and a cheap pack of 3/8 wide mop brushes. They will bring it out to the car!

Edit: I have said no at the cashier lane at the grocery store a few times when we couldn't find something. Never was a big deal as they turn the light on if I wanted to tell the front end manager and a couple times I have! They ask and I'm honest...

Enjoy your day

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, deciding not to do something because you don't feel comfortable doing it is always the right move.  Stunning picture.  Enjoy your pizza.

Jerry, if you're not getting to the bench, I hope you are getting to the beach.

Larry, have fun working on the diorama, looking forward to your next update.

TomO, hope the pain goes away soon, hope you make great progress at the bench.

Current weather is 20c (68f) and cloudy, no rain in the forecast today. ;D   Not much happened at the bench last night as I had to make a couple of stops on the way home and by the time I got home and ate, I was done.  I did manage to cut the foam "plug" and test fitted in in the hole, have a minor alteration to make so it fits properly, but that is an issue for tonight.  I have no stops to make tonight so I should be good to go.

Have a great day everyone.
