Good morning Rick, Philip, Curt and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, nice picture of the Japanese garden.

Philip, have fun with the yard work.

Curt, Maybe there is an auto glass place where you are that can replace the windshield.  ;D   Hope you find a solution to the glass issue.

Current weather here is 18c (64f) and another day of sunshine.  No modeling last night, but I did spend time in the layout room trying to figure out how I'm going to clean it up.  I did find some things that I thought I lost forever.  The cleaning up is the easy part, finding permanent homes for the stuff is the hard part.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Beautiful photo of the garden but I expected to see some Bonsai trees in containers. My Daughter bought a 2023 Hyundai Kona; a mid sized SUV with 29,000 miles, all wheel drive. It came with 4 new tires, all new brakes, and O-L-F. She bought it for a good price and it rides and handles very nicely.

Philip cats do have a way of leaving their mark. Careful with the lower back moving topsoil around.

Curt sorry to hear about the rain but at least you got to catch a few more zzzz's. Have fun at the bench and easy on the floors.

Ron good luck getting things squared away in the train room.

What's your plans.

It's another sunny beautiful day @ 60 with a high of 80. Received a call from my Mechanic late yesterday informing me the "check engine" light came on as he was driving into the garage for inspection. By NYS inspection laws any vehicle with that light on has to be resolved, all codes cleared then driven until it passes said codes. More $$$$ and a few more days at the Shop. Maybe some bench time this am then have a couple of 1:1's to take care of this afternoon.

Have an enjoyable and safe day!!! Be well.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Thanks for the garden photo.

Philip, sounds like your wife has a good day laborer...

Curt, good luck with the vehicle.

Ron, that's the same problem I have.  Where to store things permanently.

Larry, they ought to ban those check engine lights.  Congrats to your daughter on her car purchase.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning with no rain in the forecast.  Yesterday was another 1:1 day.  I cleaned the garage and reorganized the cabinets, tools, etc. Now I can park both cars in the garage and have a place for a new tool. I gave all my wood shop tools away when we moved here and found I needed a table saw for future projects.  I bought a cheap one on Amazon, and it arrives tomorrow.  My SIL brought over the planer I gave him, so I am set.  Phase II in the planning stage for Buffalo Canyon Mining Company.

I didn't get back to the tank car, but I will today.  The bands still need to be glued in place.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning Crew from another nice but dry day in Wisconsin

Rick, The Tuner was good. A piano tuner with a hearing disorder and very unrealistically naive becomes a safe cracker. Entertaining and worth the $6.00 Tuesday ticket, free popcorn and the last soda I buy at the theater. I was thirsty and a small cost $7.53, the large was $12.50:+ tax. I recommend the movie but this one you could wait for it on streaming if you stream!

Terry said yesterday she is making homemade crab cakes and lobster cakes for tonight. That means her friends are coming for dinner. I will be having a shrimp roll instead though I enjoy the lobster cakes. I will be having mine for my lunch today. The fish monger delivered yesterday afternoon 12# each of the lobster and crab. Just 5# of the shrimp. When I asked last night who was coming she said Pat (her life time friend) , Pharma (her good friend and my Endocrinologist) the daughter, at least one of her friends and the granddaughter. Then they will watch the Knicks and Spurs NBA game on my big screen. The girls love basketball and while Terry is not a wino the rest are! Pat and Pharma are staying over, the son in law will pick up the rest! Yep, lots of train room or deck time tonight for me!

Terry did mention to me yesterday that she is starting to agree with me that maybe we should truly downsize. She said she is fine if we move out of our little city and back to the property we have about 4 miles away. I will not be drawing up any plans until "starting to agree" becomes let's move! They could be tomorrow or 5 years from now.

Enjoy your day

Absolutely Jerry. The granddaughter gave me my hug and said grandpa where are you going tonight. I said why, she said it's a girls night but not a sleep over. She is special needs and definitely has her moments.

They are just starting the crab and lobster cakes with sweet potato fries. I had a shrimp roll for lunch at 1:15 and will be grilling about 20 pieces in 45 minutes or so along with some real white potato french fries. I'm in heaven

K-9,
Ivy 5 let it thrive!  :o

I got the 3 earlier this season prepping the garden. Soaked in calamine lotion for a week. Perhaps Ivy or those chiggers!  Misery!

Oh Tom I had sweet potato fries tonight with pork! Oh my! ;D

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Currently 65, clouds and a small chance of rain in the PM with a high of 80.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Crispy bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel for breakfast today.

Philip, sounds like a tasty meal.

TomO, that meal sounds delicious.

Jerry, I thought 2 of the walls would be stone.

Karl, good job avoiding the ivy.

Mike, have fun with your new toy.

Larry, hope the auto's code doesn't eat too much of the modeling budget.

Ron, hope you make good progress with the clean-up.

Curt, I'm still in Sioux Falls till further notice.
Closing isn't till next Wednesday.
Then I need to spend a few weeks changing addresses and getting things set up at home.
So I'll be here for a while.

ACLTom, I see you're logged in, hope you are well.

How's everyone else.

Other than doing a 5 mile walk with Star nothing much happened here yesterday.
Since it didn't rain last night a think another trip to the Good Earth SP and a short hike will happen this morning.

One more from the Japanese Garden.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Rick, much appreciated.

I'm fine! Just been very busy with a lot of 1:1 stuff with the house and Dr. appointments. The house is now painted and it took about a day or so to get everything back in order.

I also got a little more done on Horwood Bros. build but don't have the photos ready to post an update. Hopefully, maybe later this afternoon.

I'm balancing the check books this morning and then I'll get caught up on all the threads I've missed the past week.

Have a safe and hobby filled day everyone.

Good morning,

Rick, thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Hope you enjoy the hike and park.

Philip, hope the calamine works well for you.

Jerry, congrats on wall 4.  The expansion was in the original plan as phase II.

TomO, good luck with the downsizing decisions.

Karl, just looking at that photo made me itch...

How is the rest of the crew?

Yesterday I worked on the tank car, went to the Mandalorian movie with the kids, and watched the Braves play ball.  All in all, it was a good day.

An insurance adjuster visits this morning to evaluate a leak in the front hall ceiling that occurred during our last rain.  They say it is a wind event, and my deductible jumps from $2000 to $8000.  Yikes!  The table saw arrived yesterday, and its assembly is on the agenda for the coming day.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Good luck getting through the closing and getting your new digs setup. Nice photo; looks like a peaceful place. Hopefully I can get out of the car business under a couple thousand. My car goes in next so fingers crossed nothing's wrong with it; just inspection & O-L-F.

Tom 1:1 stuff can suck up a lot of our time; that and I know I don't work as quickly as I did 20 years ago. Looking forward to your update.

Mike that's not right!! They're just trying to get out of paying any $$$; typical insurance crap. Careful assembling the table saw.

How's the rest of you doing.

It's another sunny 58 with a high of 82. Few errands to run shortly so I won't have to go into town this weekend. It's the annual "Oz Fest" so lots of out-of-towners or what we like to call "Ozholes." May have to mow the lawn this afternoon along with taking Ellie to a hair apt.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Enjoy your hike with Star today.

Started out the day with a walk at a glorious 67F and no humidity. This was from a cold front that went through yesterday. It's supposed to be cooler until Saturday.

Yesterday I spent a couple of hours painting and assembling the truck and should finish it today. I got very lucky yesterday. I decided to go through the trashcan next to the workbench and I found the glass pieces! I should of bought a lottery ticket.

Yesterday son and I removed a 10 ft pine in the back yard that had a dead bottom.

Tom good to see you posting again.

Mike is the diagram a new layout?

Larry what does OLF stand for?

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning gang and thanks for the coffee Rick. I have 3 Japanese maples in my shady yard, they have samplings that sprout about every 10 years. Difficult to grown from saplings.

Mike, I'm all healed up from my brush with poison ivy. Was a double edged with chiggers in the mix. I am looking at roofing contractors. It is unreal the prices they want now. I'll have to take a second mortgage to afford a new roof.

OLF  ;D  oil lube and filter. Should be OLFS. Oh lets F--- Someone!

Larry. Oz Fest like Ozzy Osbourne?

Keep Jim Kellow in your prayers. He had a heart attack earlier this week.

Also Pennman (Rich) fell and hurt his leg and arm. He's bruised up pretty good lift him up.

I am busy making (restocking brake wheels) I have printed and cast over 300 of those pesky parts.
So no Blacksmithing build yet. Dang it! :(

Mike it might be worth getting an independent inspector for an inspection to battle the insurance company if they try to sc**w you.
