Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, enjoy your hike with Star this morning.

Current weather is 23c (73f) and sunny.  Spent last night working on cleaning up the train room, made a significant dent, I can walk around withing bumping into things again.  ;D  Although that was the easy part, the permanent home for a lot of the stuff on the floor was the trash bin.  Also dismantled a couple of Ikea chairs that we have no use for anymore, don';t think the trash man will be very happy with me this week.  Tonight's plan is to pack up the tools I usually bring to a show as we are displaying and running trains at a train show in Arnprior this weekend, set up is tomorrow.  Might also get to continue the cleanup in the train room.

Have a great day everyone.

Philip the OZ Fest is all about the "Wizard of Oz" book/movie. Frank L. Baum, who was the author, was born in Chittenango NY but his family move to Syracuse NY when he was 2 years old. This celebration has been going on for 40+ years and I'm proud to say I've never been once and plan on keeping it that way. Sadly it goes on rain or shine.

Sorry to hear about Jim and Rich; neither one of those situations is good.

Good morning. Yesterday 16 F35's buzzed the house. Just a few minutes ago it was 3 very small slow yellow biplanes!

The Air NationalGuard is holding an exercise called Sentry North 2026 till 6/15 at Volk Field where they can go supersonic over the  bombing range and beyond! About 100 miles north of us, they do big sweeps occasionally and fly over head when exercises happen. Maybe once a week we get the F35's from Truax Field (Dane county Airport) fly overhead in groupings of 2-6. Sounds of freedom. I used to travel Wi. Hwy 54 and 173 sometimes late at night. One time traveling back from a trade show in early Winter with my Sales Manager we were on one of them. He was driving! We got buzzed I swear 100' above us by 2 jets, I damn near had a heart attack after they went over us. Robert never reacted! He saw them coming up behind us and growing up near the Hardwood Air-to-Ground Weapons Range just north of Volk Field he knew what was happening.

Breakfast out today (it's Thursday) is still a debate. Today we want to try a new to us Chocolatier but can't find what time it opens. Breakfast maybe near there. If not we will head downtown to Kilwin's. Though a national franchise they are owned by individuals and the Madison store on State Street is absolutely excellent. One of the chocolatiers could not make in her own store front and works for Kilwin's now. The change up is maybe doing our early seasonal drive to the Wisconsin Dells for a great hamburger lunch then the chocolate shop next door and the candy store across the street. Other than Salt Water taffy on the Altantic City Boardwalk many years ago the best I've had is in the Dells.

The grandson cut the lawns yesterday and is getting better and quicker. He has 3 neighbors of mine and does ours last. While the girls were inside the grandson and me were on the deck after he took a quick shower.  At around 8 we ate grilled shrimp and french fries. Terry offered him one of the milk shakes they made for dinner. He likes hot spicy food so I have my brothers super spicy jerk rub and did that on his shrimp. He was in heaven. I took him home and with his dad we ran the slot cars for a couple hours, a good time.

If there's any modeling time it will be after dinner time this evening.

Enjoy the day
Tom

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Slept well last night, didn't even get up to go to the bathroom. MOH has a VA appointment this morning (never wants me to go with her). It's a hearing test (about time). Yesterday I finished the diorama and truck.

Today after chores I'll take photos and finish the build thread. Next up for me is the SW Shipyard at Foss landing. This will be a bit of a challenge with multilevel base and water. I'm working towards the SW Twin Mills kit which is massive. I believe it has a 3'x 3' footprint.

Anyhoo that's what's happening this way.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

63 now, clouds in the AM and sun in the PM with a high of 82.
Slight chance of rain in the AM.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Huevos Rancheros for breakfast.

Karl, keep plugging away on those 1:1's.

TomO, how'd the chocolate hunt go?

Larry, I wonder how many people know that The Wizard of OZ was about precious metals.

Ron, have fun running trains at the show.

Jerry, didn't realize you were working on 2 different builds.

Philip, I don't think I know Jim but I wish he and Rich have a speedy recovery.

Curt, glad you found the glass and I guess you didn't find the steering wheel in there too.

Mike, hope the leak repair goes well.

ACLTom, glad to see you back here and posting again.

Dave, James and everyone else, how are you.

Star and I did 3 miles at the Good Earth Park.
Nothing too exciting the rest of the day.
I trip to the gym this morning and that's all I have planned so far.

Never seen this on a hike and wasn't expecting to see it either.  ;D

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Thanks for the dual breakfasts Rick and Curt.

Rick, that looks like some home grown Mary Jane..

I've found that in spite of how I feel, I don't get 1:1 stuff done as fast as I used to. Not complaining, but I need to learn to adjust to the extra time it takes to complete yard work and cleaning up the train shed. Yesterday, I cleaned the shed and told Pam I'd be finished in an hour. Well, it took me two hours and I didn't goof off.

Pam and I are meeting Bill (The Judge) and his wife Cindy next Thursday for lunch. I told Bill we'd meet him up near his house.

It was a cool 65 here this morning which is very rare for us this time of year. Not complaining though.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Looking forward to your update. With 2 new kits in queue looks like you'll have plenty modeling for awhile.

Rick I'll take a second cup of Joe. The Oz trivia I didn't know either; although Baum did like his opium from time to time. Looks like someone is growing a little "whacky tabacy.

Tom don't feel bad, I'm in the same boat when it comes to doing stuff. Old age?....nah. I'm grateful that I can still do things for myself.

What's your plans?

It's another sunny 61 with a high of 86; although tomorrow They're calling for rain which we can use. A quick errand to run shortly then after that not sure yet; I'm sure something will present itself.

Have a safe and enjoyable day!! Be well.

Sun and high 60s going to 80 with rain later today.

Looks like what we used to call "Ditch Weed" here in this area.  Later in the summer we'd get calls on finds like that, some fairly substantial.  We'd go out and pick it all but one stalk and leave a Narc Squad business card attached.  Now days in MI it's 'legal' and grown in labs.  Much stronger, it's said, and sold retail all over the state.

Plans still in progress, a/c on.  Dug out long sleeves again.

We do need the rain coming later.

Jerry

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Sounds like your planning a lot of bench time in the future?  ;D

Rick thanks for the second cup.
Hopefully I'll finish one of them.  :)

Tom it's called older age and we all seem to have it these days!  8)

Larry have a nice day doing whatever!

Karl hope those plans work out for you!!!

Weather in South Jersey sunny/81  Later on 90.
Izzy had a groomer appointment.

Not sure if we will try a trip to the beach.  Most likely by the time we would get there, it will be crawling with outsiders.  Trying to burn there skin off!!

Work continues on the????

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Good morning, all.  Nice Victory Garden shot there, Rick.  Starting a load of laundry, then computers off and up to the attic before it gets too hot.
