Morning all,

As a hidden bonus the Jennair range that we replaced has a downdraft squirrel cage sealed vent system. I'm  going to separate it from the range and repurpose it as a paint booth extraction unit.

She's happy Mike.

Canning resumes today Rick.

The weather is finally a bit cooler today.

I have the blacksmith shop together, but distracted as usual. Been working on it.....

Howdy.

Made it to the cars and coffee early before it got hot. I walked around for an hour and began to sweat so it was time to head to the Apple Store. I need a watch to keep track of my workout. I joined this boot camp group and we exercise outdoors at this asphalt parking lot and I've already cracked two screen protectors on my phone doing sits up the like  Thus, I need something to keep up and tell me I'm about to have a heart attack and then calls the rescue squad when I pass out and fall on my back. I used to have a $20 Casio I wore for years and then I quit wearing it when I got an iPhone since the iPhone has a built in clock.

There was an original Trabant at the cars and coffee. Perhaps a sign of the times lol 😂

Jerry my railroad scenery cleaning is my responsibility and gardening is hers unless she needs help. The goal for this one is the landscapers will peal the soil back, amend it and plant a few of the bigger things Terry and I no longer can handle. The Perennials and annuals I can help with planting  but after that she doesn't want me messing with her plants. Usually I dig a hole if the shovel is needed but if it's just a trowel she won't ask for help.

The daughter though finally at 40 found the gardening gene passed down from Terry's maternal grandmother and her dad to Terry. This project though will be interesting as it's surrounding 3 sides of the woods. She has a planting list of Wisconsin native plants that should thrive in these spots. From what I understand it's a joint project between the 2.

Coffee, sodas and OPJ are ready.
Omelet station is set up for breakfast today.

Karl, those wind turbines are a blight on the landscape.

Star and I hiked around the perimeter of Rampart Reservoir yesterday.
15.5 miles and about 1,000' of EG.
Was treated to a nice sunrise and nice views.
Rested the rest of the day.
Couple of t-storms rolled through but it only rained lightly here.
The reservoir sure could use a lot more water.
Walmart first, then the gym and then drive towards the next hike.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. With all the exercise you get from hiking I would imagine you probably have a body of a 40 year old. Doctors are always telling people to make sure they get plenty of exercise.

What's your plans today?

It's a rainy 66 with a high of 76 and a little muggy. Our Daughter's coming over this afternoon to celebrate my birthday; it'll be nice to see her. Not much else planned for the day and not sure if any bench time will happen.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Another pretty landscape photo.

Just finished up chores and drinking a glass of OJ before heading upstairs to the workbench. Yesterday I built the tank stand painted the tank and mounted it.

Today I need to finish up the tank and install 2 smoke stacks. After that is weathering the roofs. I should have an update in a couple of days.

Not much else happening this way.

Had a great day yesterday, My buddy picked me up at 7:30 and went for breakfast to start the day.  After breakfast we made the trip to Delson Quebec (south shore of Montreal) to visit Exporail, a railroad museum under sunny skies.  While we planned to spend 4 hrs there we ended up spending close to 5-1/2 hrs there.     We happened to pick the weekend that also had model railway displays and vendors.  This museum also get provincial funding so it is well set up.

One of the exhibits in the main display hall was a Montreal Subway Car which caused a lot of reminiscing as we both grew up in Montreal.  One never knows what you will find at these shows.  I found a bag of Grandt Line O scale detail parts that contained 21 packages of detail parts.  Those packages contained mostly windows and doors as well as a chimney, turnbuckles and cast iron switch stands (4) as well as a package of 1-1/4" BNW's.  As a bonus, there was also a package of Fast Tracks O scale narrow gauge PC board Ties in the bag.  It was well worth the $20.00 I paid for it.

Not sure what today will bring, but seeing as the turntable is now planted, I think the next project will be installing the switch leading to the staging yard.

Good Sunday morning. 63f degrees slowly climbing today to maybe 77.

Last night around 11 the friend I have been designing his paper mill for and built his power plant, storage tanks and 5 bridges so far texted about a possible project. The Foss River Bridge in Washington. 624' long built in 1901 and still in use today.

An intriguing project (see pictures below) that I want to and need to say no to. I'm solid with layout projects for him and another friend into 4/2027. But damn I love a challenge. I did some research till 2am and digital prints are free for download from the

More a kit bash of Micro Engineering support towers that are extremely similar to the prototype and girders from Central Valley Model Works would create another signature scenery element on his layout. So no need to reinvent the wheel on this one

I need to walk away from this but in a text this morning I said to the Crew it's doable. This Friday the plan was to close off the small 3 turn helix on his layout. This bridge would be built by exposing the top level of the hidden helix so he needs to redo his framing by Friday to accommodate the bridge scene someday
