Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, pastry, OJ, and soda.

Well yesterday didn't go as planned. As MOH and I were fixing to leave Dad says can you look at my back? The site where his dermatologist removed skin for testing looked horrible. I thought he was developing abscess or ulcer. Of course he didn't say anything until this point . So I took Dad to the Urgent Care and MOH did the rescue.

I really thought Dad would end up at the very least in the ER and quite possibly be admitted. It ends up the doctor said it was shallow and that the bandage was the main issue trapping moisture in. So we got topical antibiotics and a plan for treatment and was discharged. I guess I'm losing my EMS mojo.

The rescue went well. The reason the one was being surrendered was the other skunk was attacking this one. Poor guy, he's really gentle but huge. Another one on a diet.

Today after chores is Dad's errands so probably another day of no workbench.

Star and I did our hike yesterday.
It was weather challenged though.
For the first hour I was in a cloud.
Then as I got close to the top of the trail the clouds lifted and got some nice views.
On the way back down it started to rain.
Fortunately it wasn't a downpour.
It rained lightly most of the day and finally cleared up around 3.
First rainy day I've had all summer.
Rest day today before going to RMNP tomorrow morning for another hike.

What's your plans?

It's a cloudy 64 with a high of 79 with rain. Grocery shopping shortly then maybe some more bench time.
It's slow going at the moment but it's coming along; probably a few days before there's anything worth showing.

I need to finish off August today. I've already turned in my timecard. Otherwise, the VP of my work division will send me a crafty communication urging me to "bill the customer" in a timely fashion. I don't want to be on the VP's "illustrious" list.

Clouds, and humid with rain at chance today in MI as them temps move back into the 80s for several days.  Rain dancer on the tv website said, "no super soakers".  I'll take it.

Chill out ended up with some bagging and tossing of unused crap and corruption from the work room, a bag out to the hopper for this morning's weekly pickup.  The old 55" TV went to the curb as well.  I went to the basement to do some plaster cloth work and found out I only had a partial roll, used it and quit early.  Amazon bringing a half dozen rolls today.  I found a box of old photos behind stuff in the workroom, looked thru some and wondered where life has gone...


Watched ON GOLDEN POND last night, with a whole new point of view, having just turned 78.  I've become Walter.

Yes RON Football season is upon us, we'll see how the Blue and Silver do this fall. New coaches in E. Lansing have a glimmer of some hype but a definite "show me.." attitude here.

Good morning. 75 moving to 90 later with humidity you can definitely feel.

Rick, great picture. I got the cushions in just as the rain began. Nothing earth shaking at just around 1/4". Overall we received .75" the last 36 hours. Definitely need it and much more.

Today is the start to 1 project, trees ALL week. Trembling Aspens are at least today and tomorrow. Last night I moved them from the shelf to the bench top. It's so nice to have room to spread things out again. The 44 trunks are cut but I have decided need more shaping. I will start the limbs and branch structures with twisted wire. Depending on how it goes it's possible without interruptions I can get them formed today but they should be done tomorrow. I am not drilling the holes in the trunks for the limbs until my new glasses come in. After the Aspens it's back to the birch trees that need just the leaves and maybe more shading under the canopy. I plan to take them to the layout work session on Friday so the owner has them and he can STORE them. The scenery guy told us Friday he's hoping to install them in October. Since the next Ops Session invitation is the 14th he's cutting it close with his ground work. So the birches are ahead of schedule but I want them delivered Friday. The conifer lady and her maple tree husband want to stop in today or tomorrow to discuss their project. They are flying as she has 120 conifers assembled and trimmed and he has the 112 maples completely configured. Yesterday the UP layout owner found his Deciduous trees from his previous layout that he thought accidentally got throw out. He will stop by with them tomorrow night and the 2 12 year olds when they arrive after school Wednesday can sort and clean them up for us to make decision where to use them. Yep, it's tree week

It pored here last night but we needed it.

Karl, I'm kind of looking forward to football season too, We shall see how the fish do, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

TomO,  Sounds like you will be sick of making trees by the end of the week.

Current weather here is 16c (62f), overcast with rain in the forecast.  Managed some more bench time yesterday and completed the trackwork through the tunnel which was the goal this weekend.  I have 16" of track to lay to connect the staging yard to the existing layout.  Before I can do that I need to do some basic scenery before I install the bridges.  That will be this week's project depending on how I feel after my work day.

It's another hazy and hot day and getting hotter this week.  I've been working on the engine shed substructures and have one left to add siding.  Still haven't started painting stone.

Other than a short walk where I'm camped at, nothing much happened here yesterday.
Doing a hike by myself at RMNP and that's why I'm up even earlier than usual.

Starting out the day drinking coffee and will get a bowl of cereal in a bit. Yesterday I tried to simulate the grunge that gets on pilings in the water. I'm not happy with the way it came out, so I'm trying to think of ways to tone it down.

After that I started building the largest dock (large rectangle) that the previously built offices sit on and has an embedded section of RR track.

Today MOH has yet another rescue. For some reason this time of year is historically the busiest time of year for surrendering animals.

Well, that's all I got.

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have a safe hike and great photo. Yes I'm plugging away
but it's slow going.

Jaime I once had a Boss that told me "If you don't from me consider that as good news."

Curt good luck with the large dock. As far as the grunge goes, and being HO, have you tried a fine ballast
added in layers to get the look you're going after. Just a thought.

What's your plans?

It's another rainy 67 with a high of 77 and a little muggy out. Going to hit the bench shortly and maybe
an update later today. Not much else going on here.

Checking in early today before the day gets out of hand the joys of working for a living.  Current temperature is 16c (61f) overcast with more rain in the forecast.  I have come to the realization that modeling through the week is difficult for me when I'm in the office.  Getting up at 5:30 to get ready to work, drive to work (trip to work takes 1 1/4 hours each way) work 8 to 9 hrs a day, drive home, make and eat dinner gives me little energy or desire to do anything else.  If I need to work on Fridays I work from home.  This leaves me Friday to Sunday to work in the layout.  Even with errands, chores and other things I usually can find at least a couple of hours a day to accomplish something.  Well that's my life right now.

With all that, no modeling last night.
