September 3, 2026 headed to a holiday weekend

We are --this-- close to the holiday weekend. Maybe I will find time to do some trainy thing or two.

It is still hot here. When I was in high school it was already windbreaker weather for Labor Day. Maybe I was less tolerant of the weather when I was younger 

Pictured here is a very small train station/whistle stop at the Franklin & South Manchester. Belverton, it sounds like a great place to be for the Labor Day holiday.

I had better get back to work already.

Kind of a wild start to the day in midMichigan hot and humid yet again.

The storm lost all its water in mid-Michigan - lots of lighting and noise but very little rain when it got to us.


Update:  Round two hit us hard.  On generator - we now have a lake in our yard.

Now that I look at the radar we have more fun lined up for this afternoon.

Good evening, all. The NH seacoast started the day with rain, then gray and temperatures rising to the 70sl till a little sun in the late afternoon.  Karl, I can only recall one 6" thunderstorm, and that took an hour to deliver its burden.  It flooded riverside buildings in Exeter and Amesbury, with a number of road washouts closer to home. A number of locals wrecked their engines by driving through water that rose above their air intakes...

Today's lowlight, as it were, was paying a couple of grand to fix the 2016 Prius my wife usually drives  The majority of that went to replacing a control arm bushing. The BOlt I usually drive will need new shoes too, but next month...
