Drove a little more than two to get to the Wind River Range.
I'm camped at the Skyline Drive Overlook.
The view here is amazing.
I'm .7 miles from tomorrow's trailhead.

This is just a small view of what I can see from here.
I'll try and get a better, wider view in a little bit.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening Rick and enjoy your hike with Star today. Thanks for starting the new lounge.

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ and soda.

Yesterday I finished the large platform (for now) and I built a shack that sits on a previously built platform. Both things still need final weathering and details.

Today after chores I'll start on another small building (wood cutter office). Late afternoon MOH should be back home and getting ready for her week long trip to SC and OH. She leaves on Wednesday for that.

It's a brisk and sunny 56 with a high of 76. Some bench time this morning and hope to update my thread ay some point. Also have a few outdoor chores to attend to as well. Not much else going on here.

It was good to see TomACL online yesterday.  Baby steps.

Sharon is doing well after her infusion.  We enjoyed the Japanese food afterward.

It's going to be another unpleasant day out at 94F.  Yesterday I continued work on several engine shed projects, including 3DP details to print.

Good morning, Rick, Curt, Larry, Mike, Tom and later risers. The NH seacoast has a chance of rain this morning, clearing later with highs around 70F. I have Haralson and Beacon apples in quantity, plus more Summercrisp pears to harvest. My wife is thinking of mowing, but I'll suggest putting it off a day because my grandson is being brought over by his parents this afternoon.  Layout work or other modeling will wait till evening.

Good morning Crew. Thanks Curt for breakfast. Rick, that is a wonderful picture! Larry, enjoy the bench time. Mike glad to read Sharon's infusion went well.

It's 62f degrees now and only climbing to 80. The humidity is 94% and dropping into the high 60's so it might turn into an outside day Terry can handle. I have 2 Ryobi battery fans blowing on the deck right now and it's comfortable

I did venture over to the bench yesterday basically to get ready for some diesel weathering over the next few days. I have 12 Sd38-2 units that need to be faded, then the wheels, truck sets and plows need some heavier weathering. 1st though I have to change numbers on 7 of them. The number changes I will definitely do today. Once I start the fading though the rest will move fairly quick.

I have on the other part of the bench the final (Michigan UP layout) batch of 50 birch trees lined up for additional inspection and I am really close to having these ready to transport. I head up the 45 miles on Thursday. Install per the owner is still set for 10/7.

I have the Trembling or Weeping Aspen trunks of various heights and thickness cut from bamboo rod up to 3/16" thick. There are 44 planned for the Michigan UP layout for install 10/7 and hundreds for the local PNW layout to be installed hopefully by Xmas. I have 4 sizes planned and while I don't have an exact count I believe there are 100 trunks cut. I have to find a better, ok quicker method of drilling the holes in the tree trunks to insert the limbs and branch pieces. I'm hoping I can $$$ entice the 2 apprentice spray painters into drilling the holes for these trees. But I first need a jig or at least a consistent method someone can follow. The first hundred trees will definitely be a cut, drill and insert the twisted wire limbs and branches. The conifer lady has her tree allotment of 114+ trimmed to shape. She has offered to try a similar method of construction on twisting out some of the next Aspens but instead of sisal rope branches she would use 28 gauge florist wire. I'm more than willing to have her experiment.

It just seems very quiet out here on the deck this morning. There is no breeze, I can't hear the 8 horses even though they are in one of the close by fields. We haven't been here long enough yet for me to get a consistent feel on the morning noises or what the lack of them mean. Heck even the trees are very still this morning.

TomO, sounds like you have quite the tree factory going.  Have fun with the locomotive weathering.

Current weather here is 16c (61f) with a high predicted to be 23c (73f) with blue skies and no rain in the forecast today.  No modeling yesterday, but I did manage to install the last 2 doors on a shelving unit I build months ago    as well as doing more cleanup in the crew lounge which is now almost complete, another couple of hours and I'll be able to put it to bed.  I also found the box of sculpamold I was looking for to start the scenery in the canyon area of the staging yard.

Sun and fresh in the mitten state this morning, no rain in sight.

Michigan football got their butts handed to them last night by Western Michigan...until the very last second.  After a seeming game ending pass out of the endzone as the clock ran out by M the stripe shirts gave them 1 second and the end zone melee ended up with M "winning" the scrum.  Big ** next to that w.   

Little planned here until later in the day, going to friends, I guess.  Womens' plan

A break in the weather tomorrow in the high 80's.
Still nothing from the bench.
Today will be leave raking for some reason the yard is full of falling leaves.
Seems a little early for this!

Hopefully I can finish this last wall later in the day!

Well, it seems the medical reports are favorable today, and That's A Good Thing.  

Rick, have you been to Creede, CO?  

I think I mentioned I bought a laser cutter, returned it, and then bought a different laser cutter.  Well, it looks like Amazon sold me a product they didn't have (XTool S1 _10 watt_.)  The XTool site itself doesn't list this at all.  The 20 watt unit is out of stock, they only show the 40 watt.)  This was part of a package deal, the other two parts of the package arrived yesterday.  The laser itself is supposed to be delivered Tuesday.  The listing for the 'product you ordered' points to the 40w version, with a line "you bought a different model".  That's not very helpful, of course.

It will be Very Interesting to see how Amazon handles this when they figure out they can't ship what I paid for.
