Was a little chilly this morning as the temp was only 6c (43f), the current temperature is 13c (56f) and cloudy, with no wet stuff in the forecast.  While I didn't get any modeling done last night (don't ask) but I did 3D print a crashed flying saucer, hopefully tonight I'll print some little green men.  These are for my modules, I'll be able to explain this weekend, but I bet you can figure it out.  As a hint I have a bunch of green cows that the locals claim are radioactive.

It's cooler today at 91F.  Everything is still green.  It was abysmal baseball watching last night. I worked a bit on the roofing.  I finished the last of the roof panels this morning, so after the paint dries, I'll assemble the roof.  Lighting is the main topic this morning.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Breakfast pizza for breakfast topped with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.

52 in Canton, cloudy and a high of 72 with a chance for rain late in the PM.

Star does like the house but she always runs to the van first instead of the door to go in the house.

Ron, sounds like an interesting module you have planned.

Karl, pretty picture but I wouldn't want to be on the water with 21' waves.

Larry, hope the door repair wasn't too spendy.

Forgot to mention yesterday that I had a camera club meeting last night.
Bank transaction took a little time but went smoothly.
Got some phone calls to make and not sure what else I'll get into.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Very pretty scenery. A slow day is not a bad thing.

MOH ran the numbers again (she's the family economist) and decided that although the van requires frequent repairs it is still cheaper than the cost of a new one and she is is the major driver of it and it still drives well.

Yesterday I fiddled around with the metal roofing for the saw shed, tried AK metal burnishing fluid on a spare piece but it didn't turn out as I had hoped so I ordered the PCB etching fluid that Brett recommended. It should be here Friday.

I did start building the saw table that sits inside the shed, with the attached equipment will take several days to put together.

Today is Son's 43rd birthday so we will gather at supper tonight to celebrate. I am proud of him. Ten years ago he was in a downward spiral of addiction. He has been sober for almost that long, has a decent job and real friends.

Since it's Wednesday you guessed it it's floor day. . Afterwards I hope to make it to the workbench.

I'm sure the reason Star runs to the van door first she thinks that's "home". Beautiful photo.

Curt that's great to hear your Son has been sober for that long; it can't be an easy process. Have fun at the bench. Good call on the van.

What's your plans?

I finally managed to finish another chapter in my blog so that's posted as of last night for those of you who follow along.

It's a p cloudy 63 with a high of 75. Depending on how the weather shakes out the lawn may or may not get mowed today; we'll see. Be picking up the Buick sometime the afternoon and it'll be good to have the drivers door handle fixed. Maybe some bench time later.

Mostly cloudy and high 50s in the lower Merrimack Valley this morning, sun later will bring it up to the 70s.  I'm off to Seashore again for a day of testing, ballast spreading and figuring out how to get an inflator on a tire where a service guy left very much the wrong valve stem.  Hi ho...

Just to let ya'll know I'm still kicking around. Radiation is kicking my butt with two more weeks left.

I did get the grass edged and cut this past Sunday but that wore me out as well.

I do have an update to post but have been to tired/lazy to post it.

Rick, can you blame Star?  The van was 'home' much longer than the house, plus the van takes her on adventures.

Tom, good to hear from you.  Hang in there!  Given the choice between building models and writing about them, go for 'building' every time!

I did get the laser offset set, and I cut the parts for the 6-sided shed I drew up.  I haven't done anything more than move those parts to the workbench, though.  

Our monthly lunch group meets today, so not much time on the workbench.  Tomorrow I'll probably relocate the laser to the table in the basement where I expect to keep it.

56^o with a crisp fall feeling heading to 60 something later. Sun and calm. Yesterday's rough lake is gone. It's calm as glass.

The fall Monarch butterfly migration is on. We drove way down to Stonington point where the gather to head towards Mexico and the Southwest.We saw a fair amount of them as they ready to go. The Monarch needs milkweed plants to survive and they have been reduced.  They have an interesting life cycle. Information posted at the point indicates those monarchs that return next spring will be grand children of the ones leaving. Hard to wrap that up in my mind. Plenty of empty space there, tho.


This is by the Doll, actually here in the cedar swamp. She gets better pix with her iPhone than I do with the Nikon

 Hummingbirds were still around at home when we left Monday but have left the UP. Likely will be gone by the time we return home.

Might go Troll hunting today.

Curt, be careful with the PCB etching stuff, it's really nasty.  I used to use it back in the day when I made my own PCB boards.  Happy birthday to your son, hope you have a great supper with him tonight congratulations on his sobriety that couldn't have been an easy task.

Larry, the propulsion system of the crashed UFO is still under investigation. 😊  will have to check out your newest chapter.

Current weather here is 21c (69f) and overcast.  Feels like rain but there is no rain in the forecast.  Had a busy evening last night, attended a Zoom meeting with the SLD (NMRA) executive, 3D printed some little green men and started cutting the foam inserts that will hold the rolling stock that I take to shows.  Tonight's plan is to print some more little green men, taller this time and hopefully finish cutting out the foam inserts.
