Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Great photos. Is it only NP's that don't allow dogs on the trails?

Started out the day with a walk at 76F and pleasantly breezy. Today after the cold front comes through it will drop temps into 60's and 80's. We've had 100+ days of 90+ temps so far.

Today after chores I need to program a code for gs in the front door since he will be here for a long time. I have 4 generations living in our house.

On the modeling front I need to straighten the resin sea walls. I'll use a blow dryer for heat on the recommendation of Brett at SW.

Jerry and Dave I hope the storm turns out to be minor.

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Glad you and Star are able to find some hiking areas. Looks like the deer has both eyes on you.

Curt that's a lot of days of 90+; better you than me. Hope the seawall straightening goes well.

Hope those of you in the path of the Nor'easter don't have any problems. The weather wizards are saying the Nor'easter could go as far west as Rochester NY, which is 1.5 hours west of us, but they're saying it's not likely.

What are you up to today?

It's a clear 38 with a high of 70. Haven't seen our Hummingbirds for the past couple of days; looks like they've headed south. We'll keep the feeder up for another week or so in case any "travelers" stop. Taking Ellie for a hair apt. this afternoon then picking up a pizza for dinner afterwards. Not sure about any bench time.

It looks like the Nor'Easter will wash out Saturday's neighborhood Scotch Club meeting.      They're predicting over 2" of rain, but so far this year we've gotten about 1/4 of the predicted rainfall...  We can certainly use the moisture, and this should be early enough that it helps the fall leaves, rather than washing them off the trees.

In a bit, I'll go down and look at my laser project.  I have a couple things to run on the laser to help Lightburn debug a problem, and I'm not sure I'll like the look of my thick siding.  I might strip that off the building and try again.

Sun and Fall temps here going to be the "rinse and repeat" story for the next several days here. 

I worked with Corel Draw yesterday and made up a decal sheet and printed it out, will make logos and marks for a DATA only reefer car I have, and a set of numbers to renumber 7 or 8 Athearn B&O hoppers I got cheap, all the same car number.  Will give them a few more hours for the sealer to cure/dry before trying to use them.  They did turn out nice looking.  I've made them before for different projects with mixed results, from Wow to bleh..

Terry, et all.  Not looking forward to the snow machine swap out.  The stuff gets heavier every year.  Mid Oct is usual target on that task. 

TomO, you operate on a much different level than I can even contemplate.  Having had a two man crew work a couple different times over the years

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick.  Not sure what to think about the shortening of races by 2-3 laps.  I think the only change it will make is that the races will be shorter.  The leaves are changing colour here too.

Current weather here is 14c (57f) and sunny.  Looks like the northeaster will be bypassing us as there is no rain in the forecast for the next few days.  No modeling this week but no work tomorrow so I'll be able to get some modeling in. 😊  Not sure what project I'll be working on so it should be interesting.

How is the rest of the crew?

I finished painting and weathering the corrugated roofing.  Not sure I like it.  The engine shed roof needs a little more work on the rafters and such; then I can mount it and design the lighting.

In other news, I've been tired lately and had chest pains after exercise. The cardiologist took an EKG and decided it was time for the cath lab.  That will be number four for me, but at nearly 80, I won't skip any steps.  I've had quad-bypass surgery and two subsequent heart attacks. The test is next Thursday morning.

My sister is visiting tomorrow, and we will head to my daughter's place on a lake in Alabama for the weekend. The weather forecast looks perfect.

I spent some time today doing experiments with the laser to support Lightburn in tracking down a bug in their current 'release candidate'.  Hopefully they're able to see and recreate my bug.  That's usually half the effort in running down a bug.  Then I cut some more 'clapboards'.  I decided to finish the shed using those thick clapboards, after all this is not a contest model, but rather a learning experience.  Tomorrow I'll finish the shed siding, and do the roof shingles.  Pictures then.

59 now, more clouds and no rain until tonight with a high of 65.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Blueberry pancakes with real Canadian maple syrup and Wisconsin butter fro breakfast.
Bacon and sausage are  available too.

Mike, hope there's not a serious problem and it's easily resolved.

Jerry, good news on finishing the wall.

Ron, F1 is allowing more fuel to the engines next year.
That will increase fuel consumption and why the races will be shorter.
Should add more power to engines and make things more competitive.

Karl, I'll have to check out your thread and decals.

Since it's not raining I can get to cleaning the inside of the van and start winterizing it.

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Hopefully your Costco is not as busy as ours.

Slept poorly last night because of the neuropathy that has been flaring up lately. Yesterday I think I figured out the pink foam. I need to check the directions again before gluing the 2 sheets of foam and wood base together.

Dad cancelled his senior trip today. It is the ballet. He probably would of slept through it anyway.

Rick gs appears to love the job. It's a small breakfast/lunch diner run by 2 women. They appear to like him also. They're training him on all the stations including cooking.

That's about it from this way.

Some state parks and parks in general don't allow dogs.
There was one park in CA that wouldn't even let Star into the park.

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Getting the Van set for winter is probably a good move; not sure how your winters out there are. Better safe than sorry. The only Cosco's in our area is west of Syracuse and not worth the trip besides I have a hard time wrapping my head around paying THEM for the pleasure of shopping in their stores.

Curt glad the GS likes his new job. If he learns to be a "short order cook" that could be a lifelong trade. Have fun at the bench.

How's everyone else doing?

It's a chilly 48 with a high of 73. Errands to run this am then maybe some bench time working on the fishing boat while I figure out the other stuff. I have about 3 face cords kicking around of firewood that I'm giving away before it goes bad. Had an retired couple stop by the other day and grabbed half of it so today I'll start moving the rest of it from way down in the backyard closer to the back of the house; they're going to get the balance around 10/2.
