Tom

Anytime

Layout is always open if I am home!!

That is very nice of you to invite him, but you may want to have a few fire extinguishers strategically placed around the layout before he gets there.  ;D

Great job with the scenes, but don't be stingy with the pictures...

Late Breaking News ...Flash...Extra...
Press Release...Whatever

The St. Louis & Denver Railroad build will be moving to this forum in the very near future.

As soon as Doug and the gang get the issues of photo sizing and photo placement resolved, I will begin adding the posts of the layout build from the beginning to the present.

Nice find.  Even got to get some skiing in I see.

Russ:

Forgot in the last post, yes the skiing was great - Park City and Deer Valley on this trip.

Also, the restaurants in Park City were amazing. Pegi and I like to eat at non-chain type restaurants and there so many in Park City and one was better than the next.

The only other ski areas that we have found that come close are Breckenridge and Aspen in Colorado. We will keep looking and report in as we find them...

I'll be watching to make sure you stay out of trouble...if that possible!  ;D

Greg,

Thanks for checking in! Anything is possible including me "NOT" staying out of trouble.

That Greg-boy sounds like he wants to lean back against the old layout and be a Supervisor!

I've never seen that type of construction in an ore bin before.  In a grain bin yes, but not ore.  Nice find.  Even got to get some skiing in I see.

Russ:

You're right about the construction. I went by it so fast the first time, I thought I had seen something not quite right, so back up the hill and down again with a full stop to check it out.

The only thing I can think of is that by placing the wood on it's face, rather than on edge, they could eliminate some bracing and have a stronger bin to hold the required load.

Regardless, it was quite an interesting structure. Thanks for looking in.

Hey Greg,

I'm glad to see that you're (that's the proper contraction of you and are - I haven't seen Candy over here, yet, but I better get it right from the get go) doing a build thread on this neat little kit.  I'll be following along on your build and the lighting of the same with great interest.

I hope you got Pegi something nice for X-Mas.    :)
Hey Bob:

Glad to see you over here. I already saw you intention to do a FOS build over here after the first of the year and I'll be following along.

I think this will be a nice little station and I look forward to the build, especially the lighting.

I really like the lighting you've done on your builds with Slim's products and give you fair warning that you will be "drafted" to tutor me with making that happen.

I did get Pegi a few things that will surprise her and a few that I hope will have a good "WOW" factor. It gets harder to come up with something spectacular each year, especially after 47 years!

Merry Christmas to you and Eileen, see you soon !!! :)

Below are a couple of quick photos.....The other photo shows my colors. Not sure who's color scheme it is but I thought it would look ok.

Slim:

The colors look good, I'll be watching your build.
