Baggage Car - Daily Chat / Tuesday March 31st

Morning.  Rainy here in the northeast corner or Mass this morning, dashboard says 53 degrees.  Supposed to be rainy or damp most of the week thru Easter. I won't complain because of the ongoing drought since last year.

Good afternoon. Started off with a dusting of snow and now it's about 45 degrees. Too late to start anything, tomorrow sounds better.

Good Morning. What I thought was going to be a quick in and out at the orthodontist yesterday, was a little more than expected. I ended up having a tooth pulled that was beyond repair. I knew it needed to be done, but thought my dentist was going to do it. Did get to go to my local Hobby shop, but a few of the things I needed were out of stock. :(

Morning Jeff and other members. Using up another day off today.  Need to go and have a pan xray of my teeth for a possible extraction this afternoon, other than that nothing is planned.

Good afternoon.  The Comcast tech came this afternoon and as soon as he walked in he said they gave me the wrong box. While  he was here he checked the signal, gave us a newer modem, and installed the new box and programmed everything.  I should have just called and made an appointment in the 1st place. To answer Dave Emery's question from yesterday  post, Comcast is the only game in town. About 10 years ago Verizon came in and installed fiber optic cable, but it's never been  available. I think a former mayor got paid off for the monopoly Comcast  has.

My mission started at 10 this morning to go replace the box. Waited over an hour to exchange for a new one. The gentleman next to me was pretty upset with the wait, I told him I was used to it having to deal with the Mass. Registry growing up. After dealing with trying to activate it all afternoon, I tried calling Comcast to hear it was a 45-minute wait to talk to a human. It then took another 45 minutes to text someone to make an appointment for a tech to come by. They'll be here tomorrow between 2 and 4, wish me luck... ::)

Morning All. As Dave said the big melt is finally happening here in New England, it's officially "Mud Season". Need to go over one town to get a cable box replaced. It used to be you'd get a new one and it would be plug and play, now you need to download the latest APP. and register the box to get it to work. p I probably should just call the cable co. and have them come do it, but I won't. Enjoy your day..

Is that 196 Merrimack St.? Other possibility is 196 Washington St., next to the now-condos Bixby Box Toe factory.
James, the one in the photo was approximately in the 60 thru 70 block of Merrimack St. I remember they made a big deal about finding the frame of it back in the 1970's.  The other one was across Main St on Water St where central plaza is now.

We got about 2" here, snow and sleet.

Dave, it was in one of the big cities in the Merrimack Valley, definitely not Haverhill, although there was a similar setup in downtown Haverhill where they stuffed a Worcester dining car in an alley and built over it.

Morning.  Another Monday, another Dr's appointment for Ma. Still cold here in the northeast corner of Massachusetts, sounds like better weather is coming next week. Still plugging away on my Fos KOM building,  hope to be done with it soon.

Morning. Congratulations to both USA hockey teams. Another Bomb Cyclone  Nor' Easter blizzard is on its way to New England to rid the local grocery stores of their bread and milk. I've already have taken the day off tomorrow and will deal with it after coffee, the Gravely is gassed and ready to go.
