Morning everyone,

I sure wish someone would throw me a slice of toast, as this coffee I'm drinking is getting cold.
I could use something tasty to help wash it down.  :P

I've been plugging away at my 1:1 projects since the flood and the fish pond in the yard has been cleaned of mud water, fish are back in their "natural" habitat and living
once again in fresh water AND my inside fireplace is good to go! Wife is happy...and frankly the RR projects
may begin to come into view once again. We hope.

We replaced a wood-burning Ben Franklin Stove that had rusted chimney sections, inside and out. Pic #1

With this: Glacial Gray stacked stone and blue stone limestone mantel, corbels, and hearth
(pic #2) with interior lights on.
(pic #3) with natural daylight. Also notice the gold glass candelabra for tealight candles when not burning a fire. Oh, and the ceiling molding has be re-installed. I took these pictures before doing that!

This was any easy project. Just took only three days from start to finish. Glad it's done!
What do you think?

You know Jerry, that I now have silverwood stain. I might just have to use some to see if I can achieve what you have shown us. Those wood planks are superb! I know lighting is also a small problem, but the dock pictures (shown earlier) look a little darker than the outside wall pictures, or it may be my eyesight. I was thinking that silverwood stain would be more darker though.

And Larry is correct when saying that you are the master of framing. How did you make the door rollers/pulleys?

Nice work on the bridge, Jeff.
If it were me, I might have miss-placed a board or two and have a man stepping over the holes in the planks.

Mike,

Once again, I'm late to the party.
That water tower is one of the finest I've seen.
You hit that one out of the park!
Very nice modeling. Looking for more from you.

Tom, there's no other way to build this than what you have shown here.
I especially like the fact that you chose no rafter tails. I do that
on some builds too.
All of the weathering effects look great. Nice work.

Nice work Jeff. Plans are always handy, and help making changes as you go.

Jerry,

Having spent many years down at the beach, there's no wonder why you can construct
such a fine looking dock! I can hear the cry from those seagulls as they near their
landing spots on this fabulous wharf. Nice coloring, what's next?

WoW!! Jerry... you've been busy! I guess I'll shut my mouth now...
That pier foundation is built to perfection. There's not one board
out of line and all of the joists are perfectly straight. My hat is
off to you, Sir! I like the way Silverwood is staining/coloring the wood.
Nice work.

Wow! Jerry, like the others before me have mentioned, this will be a great thread!
That's if you really can show something is your posts - like at least a couple of
pieces of wood - joined together? Nice "catchy" name though, LOL

Good morning everyone. Up early to get crackin on cleanup duties.

Thanks for your comments Larry, Phillip, Mike, TomO, Karl and Ron.

Jerry - Have you started on my arc yet?

Tom - Prayers for You & Pam

It appears there's no rain in the forecast until next Wednesday,
so that will aid me on my cleanup this time. After Wednesday, it looks like
another week of full rain will be coming my way. Forecasters have predicted
a hot and wet summer this year. I can't deal with this every other week!

Back later this afternoon with a progress report. Have a safe day all.

This is a really nice group of construction ideas put to good use, Larry.
Thoughts from other modelers do come in handy, as you have shown here. I
also keep old manuals from previous kits as a reference. A nice build so far.

Thanks for looking in Jerry, Curt, Ron and Rick.

We were cleaning up most of the yard this morning
and finding debris where you least would expect it!
No doubt, that's what happens when a force of water
makes it's way throughout any clear space.

This flooding on our property is not a new occurrence
because our property is in a flood zone. My wife has
lived here for over fifty years dealing with this every
few years when heavy rains come. Moreover, it's just
disheartening to see our work destroyed each time it
happens. We actually lucked out this time, with no gravel
deposits in the lower yard from the big creek. I have had
to hand-rake that 1 1/2 acre area before and it's no picnic.

We did lose the fish from the two ponds, of which I will be
cleaning tomorrow morning. I must remove the water fountains,
water clarifier, and hoses to the waterfalls.

You may be wondering if we have flood insurance, but no, it's very costly.
We just deal with the wrath from Mother Nature. Hopefully, as time marches on,
we can get a little reprieve. And no, we are not moving!

After this is over and I can make further progress with my other 1:1 project,
I might be able to view my workbench once again! We shall see.. Thanks all.
