Quiet morning at the house with the Mrs. slumbering, so opportunity to do some internet visiting. 

Simply zero motivation to work on the layout, and I've decided the design I'm using won't allow me to make the scenes I want.  So, back to the drawing board.  At least I've stopped buying items during this down time.

Have to lower the pool water and blow the lines the next couple days....after the grass is mowed in the area where the water discharges. Maybe some sun today to dry the grass by midday.  Don't like to mow wet grass.

As I've not been visiting here lately, heard last evening from B&O Guy about Tom's "discovery."  While alarming, Tom is out ahead of it, which improves his situation and recovery.

Spectacular day in SE PA.  Hope to get outside work done because of it.  Area I'm in did not get any of the heavy weather and tornado that Bucks County, PA did.  Former co-workers from there were spared.

But we do need rain where I am. Pool water evaporating.

Holiday observed for the working people.  Just another day for us retirees.  Things do change when one retires.

Lovely morning in SE PA. Warmer weather with humidity gradually returning.  Baseball season at the halfway point.  Pro football camps will get rolling in another week or two.

Looks like my email got hacked yesterday.  Heard from many about "my" plea for some kind of game cards for a niece I don't have.  Any advice?

I've been able to pry some of it off the base with a #11 blade, a utility blade, and a putty knife.  Only get to a certain point though.  My concern is marring the plastic of course.

I'm wanting to kitbash a structure I started assembling almost 50 years ago.  It's partially done and I didn't have the insight then I have now.  I'd like to bash it with some other plastic structures.  Problem is, back then, it was glued to the base that plastic structures have.  I need to remove it from the base.

I believe I used a Testor's adhesive...the one with the brush cap.  I've cleaned off 50 years of grime.  Sure changed color. 

So, can you all think back and advise how to loosen the adhesive holding it to the base?  I know I can try to use more of the same adhesive to soften the existing bond such that the bond can be broken.   Any other ideas?

Interesting mix of transportation industry within a mile or so of the Baldwin works in Eddystone.  At the Eddystone-Chester border (Chester Creek), was Sun Shipbuilding. The Manhattan (proved feasibility of navigation over the north pole) and the  Glomar Explorer (commissioned by Howard Hughes to recover a sunken USSR sub) were built there.   Head northeast from Baldwin's about a mile and there is/was the former General Steel Castings operation that later become the site of assembly of Boeing Vertol helicopters.

Sticky weather back.  Been delightful since Tuesday through last evening. Of course, outdoor work beckons, but the missus hired people to do much of it (today).

Getting ready for another branch of the ops tree to come back on line early next week.

And, an outdoor wedding on Sunday, in the heat and humidity.

Everyone stay hydrated and seek shade at least.

Way behind on what's been reported.

Pencil shavings:  Good source for scrap metal loads.  Glue together, paint a metallic, and perhaps some rust if it's not a chrome-alloy metal you're handling. Borings and turnings loads.

Shame the Gusano Loco has that fire hydrant outside.  Maybe it's for the hot stuff inside, but it takes away a parking space assuming parking by a hydrant is a no-no in that area of fine dining.  And it appears parking spaces are limited.

Know the feeling, Jim.  Sadly, I find I enjoy watching old TV shows courtesy of the DVR.  At least the Phils have gotten so boring they're difficult to watch. Like you, the ideas are gushing, but following through has been lacking for a couple months.

Stopping by to catch up.  True sign of genius to pull inspiration from an "innocent" happenstance like a cushion tear.

Also, excellent idea to install the towel bar as a grab for those who need assistance with rising and balance.  I operate on a layout with a lower level that requires stooping/kneeling to throw switches and such. This would be handy. I'll be sharing with the owner.

Salvage yard scene has so many eye-catchers.  Such a small footprint will grab a lot of study time.
