Nice tower.  Great job on the roof.

Morning all,

Cloudy and headed to 70 here today.  Walked 2.75 miles yesterday and not really sore today, will try to go for 3 miles later.  Not much work on the kit, hope to get back to it today.

Morning all,

Raining here.  A high of 72 later.  Nothing planned except a walk later.  Dave, thanks for the Dave Barry link, I've always liked his columns.

Morning all.

Headed to 73 here.  Will take a walk later though my legs are still a bit sore.  I have twelve more days off until work and need to get into better shape to handle the twelve hour days.  Will continue work on the FSM kit and may need to mow as well.

The top boards aren't added so you can place dirt under them after attaching the wooden dock to the base.  So I spread some Elmer's glue in the area, put down the docks and then added some dirt to the area.  Then some alcohol and matte medium to keep it in place. Next up are gluing on the stone pieces to the one dock  and the top boards to the wooden dock.

I then noted the tops of two of the stone castings didn't get much black from the oil wash, so the tops had to be redone.  Then I dry brushed the pieces.

Placing the two docks together, the concrete one still needed a tiny bit sanded off to make them match.

I then built the rest of it, except the top boards.  I found out later I should have alternated the way the "inner" diagonal pieces were as it then the end pieces weren't quite right.  I'll cover it with a shrub.   8)

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Started building the wood loading dock.  The instructions have you make the base, glue it to the base and then add the joists.  It would be easier for me to add the joists on the template so they're even.  So I started that way.

Morning all.

Cloudy and headed to 70 degrees today.  I've done back to back days of 2 miles walking and am kinda sore today, so I'll skip strolling on this Sunday.  Slow progress on the FSM kit, but will do some work on that today.

Nice job on the roofs.  Looks great on the wharf.

Morning all.

Mowed yesterday and trimmed a tree which obstructs the mowing.  Headed to 72 degrees later.  Will take a walk later and work on the kit during the ballgames.

Morning all.

Sixty degrees now heading to 72 later.  A walk planned for later this morning, then a trip to the vampire for a blood draw.  Red Sox baseball, mowing and then second game of doubleheader on tap for the afternoon.

Morning all.

Cloudy here with a high in the low 60s.  At least the rain has stopped.  I may mow later, but it may be too wet.  Did manage to walk over a mile yesterday, a little sore in the legs today.  Haven't done much on the build over two days, hopefully that changes today.

Dave, western Iowa is very flat.  Here in eastern Iowa we have some hills.  Looking at a topographical map, on my usual longer walks there's about a 50 foot change from my house to the lowest part of the park.  Not like Rick's treks out west where he gains thousands of feet in a few miles, which I don't think I could partake in, but not totally flat, either.

Morning all.

Doctor released my walking restriction, though I'm still not supposed to walk over uneven ground for a couple more weeks.  Later in the day I did a little over a half mile walk and was kinda pooped afterward.  Amazing how quickly you can lose your stamina if you're just sitting for two weeks.  A trip to Costco later and we'll try for a mile walk later today.
