Also thanks MJ; your comment motivated me to look the 2027 location up: I've visited Hickory NC a couple of times, it's less than an hour from where several of my wife's family live. So if everything else aligns, I can commute to the 2027 NNGC while my wife gets family time.

I suspect you did not mean to drop your post here but your results are looking great. I've had a laser cutter for a couple of years now and frankly don't know what I would do without it. I am going to load a photo I took showing 3 x 12 strip wood I stained and then cut for use on making the pickle tanks. In you can see the circle cut outs which become the tops. You can also see where my laziness knows no bounds. I am making a transfer platform across the back for unloading of pickle cars. Instead of individual cutting out the 3 x 12 x 3 feet planks I put this slightly used sheet of strip wood. Attached together by masking tape and then cardstock, the laser in one pass cut out all the top boards, exactly 3 feet wide. Another amazing tool that allows for details and precision not available before.

Last post by KentuckySouthern - September 21, 2026, 07:19:33 PMWe arrived home in good shape. Sun in the UP morphed to mostly cloudy skies one back beneath the bridge with the trolls. Highest temperature seen was 63, 7 pm now it's in the 50s.
Funny thing the hummingbirds were very active at the feeder at the cedar swamp this am and anxious for a fresh jug of sweet stuff back here at home. Very late for them, especially in UP.
Watch last quarter of the Steelers dismissal game and enjoyed the Sunday nightcap, quite intense. Colts came oh so close. May see the game tonight too. Rested my eyes for an hour while my "ears" recharged.
Back to the yard tomorrow and maybe some bench time, too.

The Egg McRick sounds like a good breakfast, Rick. Ronald's used to be a favorite. Eggs not my favorite these days. Maybe a Sausage RikGriddle would work too.
Enjoy all, nice to be home. Near $5 gas takes the edge out of traveling right now. You would not tell from the traffic, tho.

Had a fine week, time to look at the mail and refresh the hobby projects.
Monday night football? The Sunday night game was intense.
