Excellent looking build Steve.  I really like the signage, vents, and bottom walkway.

Steve,

Beautiful modeling as usual, and the first time ever I noticed something in your work that seemed a little "off" to me.  I would suggest adding some weathering to the deck when you weather the stairs.  To me it looks far too pristine for a work area.  I may be jumping the gun here as you may already plan to weather the deck when you add the castings.

Thanks Curt and Jerry!

Jerry, you're definitely right about the dock weathering. The laser cut dock assembly is incredibly fragile, so I'll probably wait until I get it glued down with some heavy castings to add some more weathering. Same goes for the staircase - extremely fragile.

Nice work, Steve.

The colours and signage work nicely.

I have a bit of a problem with those posts supporting the weight of the second story not going all the way to the ground.  I understand that this is how the kit is designed.

In general, the popularity of kits with overhanging rooms bother me.  From a structural perspective, they're usually not adequately supported, and from an architecture perspective, that's an expense and feature that is rare to see and hard to justify.

Rule 1 apples, of course...

Over the weekend I installed the structure on the layout and started adding some details to the docks and around the building..

Ground cover is still wet in this picture.

More of an overall shot of its position.

The other side of the loading dock..

Further back in the same area.

That's it for this one. Overall, it's a nice kit for a good price. Easy to put together and everything fits well.

Thanks for following along.

Yes, indeed. The details....and everything....are gorgeous. I love the way the scene climbs from front to back, from detailed buildings up front to the imposing cliffs in the back. I'm learning a lot about scene blocking from this group. (Well, at least I'm noticing it. Yet to be seen is whether I learn anything)
