Frank - Sincere apologies for posting one of my inappropriate, humorous comments on your
layout thread!

I've been kicked off for a month on the old forum for that.  You would think that I would learn by now!

Ok, I've been serious long enough - off to another thread to post on!
Hmmm, where is L'il Tommy's latest thread?   ;D ;D ;D

David,

Alway good to hear from you and your Arkie humor. And I am sure that L'il  Tommy will be anxious to hear from you as well. We all have to remember that this hobby is a journey in life and a good laugh never hurt anyone. Keep giving everyone a good belly laugh (especially on someone else's thread ( only kidding)).

Good Afternoon everyone,

Thought you all might be interested in some more pictures of Hookers & Son. Based on prior comments, I just might have to change the name. Anyway, I have been slowly working on the structure. all the shingles are on ( oh, how I hate shingles!) and now I am finishing up the back porch. not much remains of this building , only the front porch and the loading dock. I ordered some more galvanized roofing from Northeastern and that should be here early in the week. While in Home Depot, i picked up 1/2" and 1" pink foam to use on the terrain work, street, etc. I have also found the tower design that I plan on using. Stay tuned next week for some more progress pictures.

Fantastic. All of those SRMW beauties make quite a scene. Well done as always!

Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Hey. if we didn't have Gnat around to lighten up things, it  would probably be a little to morose around here.  ;D

Oh, I forgot, another great scene Frank!  8)

Frank, the pictures are fantastic. I don't know when you have the time to build all the SRMW structures and work on the layout.

Greg, Love your reply, but you also forgot one other thing. I've been building my layout for 15 years and Tom has only just begun, again. Retirement does help, but the wife continues to find things to interrupt the build. Thanks guys.

Top of the morning Tom,

I agree with your comment about Gman. He brings a little levity into our sometimes boring lives.

As far as the structures, thank you for your kind works about the SRMW builds. I really enjoy building his kits and have learned a lot from them. The knowledge gained has really helped in scratchbuilding. I have been rather lax on the layout modifications of recent. I have not completed the track revision out of East Orange and cannot run trains around the entire layout. My bad. Too make matters worse, i have been working on plans for the steel mill complex with a friend in Tucson. We use Skype to discuss various approaches to the steel mill complex. Gordon worked in the industry for many, many years and has a great understanding of the entire process and model railroading. Sweet.

Well, need to get back to the SRMW model. thanks for your kind words. Talk to you soon.

RIGHT, but that's life. She keeps me on the straight and narrow! Well, maybe. Glad you enjoyed the build. More pictures later this week.

I have been up in the frozen North for the past week and all I could think of was - I wounder if Frank would let me pitch a tent under his new palm tree.

Your layout is looking great - can't wait to see it again.

John,

Good to hear from you. sounds like it is really, really cold back there. Don't miss that at all. 40's at night and 70's during the day. AH, winter... You don't need to pitch a tent; we have plenty of room inside.

Hope to have a lot more done by the time you get here. More pictures to follow later in the week. Stay tuned. Enjoy your time up North.

Continuing on with land forms, attached are a couple of photos that define the general landscape with the structures. Missing from the building complex is the tower which is yet undefined. to give you an overview, the road continues behind the main SRMW structure towards the fire station. There will be a side road onto the Hooker property. One from the main road and another from the end of the station. Ruggles roofing will be next to a building in the corner that is from Sylvan, directly across from the fire station. All the structures and scenery will be built on the foam. This allows the entire module to be removed at some point in time.

I have a couple buildings that are mounted directly to the plywood. Boy is that a mistake and for lots of reasons; damage being one of them. I have yet to remove them and remount them, but I am really considering doing just that. The buildings that are removable sit on cardstock that is slightly undersize. When the buildings are on the cardstock, you think it is the building foundation.

Anyway, that's it for now. I am working on the Ruggles building and should have some more progress shots later in the week. FYI. the bridge in the background in the first photo is on the river line as you exit the town Little Falls on the other side of the aisle.
