It's looking great Frank - take a picture of the prototype photo and post it here.  I think your achieving just what you were looking for.  I tried to zoom in on the one picture I took but someone had their head in front of the prototype picture. ;)   I really enjoyed the time we spent out there - thanks again for letting me get warm and play with trains.

John,
Always good to have you spent some time out here. Glad you had a good time. Here is another picture of Great Notch. i have been using my phone camera to take these pictures. I guess I'll just use the phone, because it takes such wonderful pictures. I'll post the prototype picture tomorrow. I think I have tree making under control. Just need my tree spotter!

Great eye for topography, I had to look twice to see it was a model!  This would make a great magazine cover shot, by the way.

Thank John. Still have several items to do to complete this scene. More trees, ground cover on the hill on the right. I also need to complete several details on the station like the structure footings, stairs up to the building, railings and, of course people. It is coming along, but there is so-o-o much more to do! thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Dave, I think it will be even better with the details that I mention to John. It will also look better with a train in the picture, of course. Glad you enjoyed the pic. Maybe i should send it in to NMRA for a calendar picture?! Thanks for stopping by.

YES!   That long format is perfect for a calendar photo.  You should look at a vertical format for a magazine cover.

Thanks Dave for your thoughts. I like your thinking!!! I'll have to keep that in mind the next time I take an interesting photo.

Good Morning All,

While many of the forum folks are wending their way to Scranton, some of us are left behind to continue working on their respective layouts. Wayne Olsen, a friend of John Siekirk's, is coming over this morning to help me with planting more trees. Wayne has a very good eye for color, form and texture. In order to place trees along the back of the layout in Chester, I needed to remove most of the structures and some of the homosote and plywood base to access the rear wall. the topside creeper does help as well. Utlizing both, tree planting should go quickly. There is a small area that needs some plaster and sculptamold to fix an area behind a structure.

Well, Wayne is here, so Here a couple of  pictures before I sign off.

An hour later and we are out of trees. I can see that this is going to take a lot of trees, so I ordered another box. Obviously, it did not take Wayne and I a long time to install them. Now we are going to have to wait until next week for any photo updates on trees. Don't worry, there is plenty of things to do on the layout. Plently of things, so here we go. Thanks for stopping by. Here are a couple of pics about 1- 1/2 hours after my post this morning . The first  photo is from a train magazine showing the Trees in fall foliage along the Delaware. Enjoy your day.

Frank,

The fall tree horizon looks really good. More trees and it will be a fantastic scene. Keep planting!

BTW, we stopped to visit Howard Zane this morning and I only counted 77 Erie brass locos on the layout. All have sound, marker lights (front and rear) cab lights, and firebox lights. Wonderful stuff.
