Frank,

The fall tree horizon looks really good. More trees and it will be a fantastic scene. Keep planting!

BTW, we stopped to visit Howard Zane this morning and I only counted 77 Erie brass locos on the layout. All have sound, marker lights (front and rear) cab lights, and firebox lights. Wonderful stuff.

Tom ;D

Thanks Tom for the update on Howard's layout.  You really know how to bust one's balls. That is a lot of brass. I hope you took some pictures!!! regarding the trees, i ordered another box so I can continue playing Johnny Appleseed or something to that effect. Another week or so and this town should be done. I hope!!!

Have a great time in Scranton, takes lots of pictures and have a great time.

An hour later and we are out of trees. I can see that this is going to take a lot of trees, so I ordered another box. Obviously, it did not take Wayne and I a long time to install them. Now we are going to have to wait until next week for any photo updates on trees. Don't worry, there is plenty of things to do on the layout. Plenty of things, so here we go. Thanks for stopping by. Here are a couple of pics about 1- 1/2 hours after my post this morning . The first  photo is from a train magazine showing the Trees in fall foliage along the Delaware. Enjoy your day.

Looks great Frank!
I'm glad you are keeping Wayne in top form while he is out there soaking up the sun. FYI spring has not found it's way eat of the Mississippi yet.

Thanks John,

Wayne is a real help. This only took a little over an hour and then I was out of trees. I ordered another box!!!. So-o-o, no more trees until late next week. Still a lot of details in Chester to finish, but its getting close to being finished. The fall foliage does look good!!! Enjoy the Expo, take lots of pictures and talk to you upon your return home. Wayne was a real help. He is packing up and heading home. He is taking the slow way, making a few stops along the way home. Enjoy and spend money on lots of kits!!!

Greg,

Thanks for stopping by. I ran out of the first box of trees and have order a second. The layout really consumes the trees. I really like the look, especially the fall foliage.  Reminds me of back east when i was a kid. We get a brief foliage change out here in the desert.nothing as spectacular. Here is another pic.

OK, Frank - I guess it's just us real old farts still sittin' home gettin' somethin'
done, while all the youngsters are droolin' and dreamin' over them displays and "Buy
Me - Buy Me' tables at the Expo!!

I know two of the vendors (last names start with D. and G.) that have got that 'POOR ME'
pitch down pat'!!

I'll order more as soon as my wife quits complainin' about the shelves full and over-flowin'
into the floor!

Meanwhile, keep that Arizony sun off your head!!!!

Good Afternoon David,

I guess i am an old fart, and glad to be one. It beats being a dead old fart. I have moved onto another build while waiting for more trees from Scenic Express. The UPS man will be delivering the next big box on Monday, so it will be back to the trees on Tuesday or thereabouts. Thanks for stopping by and keep giving everyone a little of the "ARKIE" humor.

Frank,

Enjoyed our Skype speak the other day. The trees look very natural where you have them. Adding a few/or many trees to an area sure changes the look of the layout.

John,

Yup, it has been slow going on the layout. My sister spent four days at my mom's house cleaning and removing everything in order to sell it. I was sneaking in some time on the railroad as you will see in the attached photo. No trees. Taking a break from them. It has been quite windy, so I'm inside. I have been working on SRMW Tucker and Cook. The main building is 95% complete and I have been positioning it on the layout. Coincidentally, the building will be right next to the trolley line, just like in Bob's model. How lucky can you get.  The rest of my time has been spent on the PSR convention, the Spur Line and work around the house. I think I'm spreading myself kinda thin!!! Enjoy the pic.

It looks great Frank!  It looks like you sneaked in a few hours.  Life can get busy - and we all tend to let ourselves get spread to thin.  Too many fun things to do plus all the family stuff that keeps coming up.  Keep posting as you get time - I will be following along.

John,
Thanks for stopping and your kind words. Yes, I have been super busy, but have been able to sneak in some play time on the layout. Off to Stretch class this morning to work out the kinks in the old body. Then some yard work followed by the afternoon in the train room!!! hope you are enjoying your yard work. Just came in from pruning a couple of bushes. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Chris,

I have been working to finish scenery for 1/2 of the layout by the end of September. The 2015 PSR NMRA Convention will be in Scottsdale. As you can well imagine, there is a lot to do. Chester is almost finished, then onto Little Falls, Ironia and Essex Fells. These towns have most of the structures complete, but lack quite a bit of scenery. And, of course, I have a couple of kit and scratch built structures to finish. Stay tuned and see how this all turns out.

Good Morning All,

The last couple of weeks have been very hectic with the convention and newsletter, but I finally got around to completing ( well almost) SRMW Tucker & Cook. There are still a few remaining details to be added to the structures plus all the garbage that comes with the kit like barrels, crates, etc... Now to add the finishing details and scenery. Now that this is in the home stretch, I will be starting the scratch build of East End Market. I have been talking with Raymo about what I could use as additional photo details. Now that is going to be a project!!! In the meantime, thought you might enjoy the pics. TGIF. Off to stretch class with the wife.

Good Morning again,

The first set of photos were taken with my phone and the following photos were taken with my camera. Just doing a comparison. BTW, you will notice that I have made several changes to the SRMW kit. The overall arrangement of the structures has been changed to fit the location on the layout. The main building has an entrance on the right side of the structure and there are two fire escapes. There is also one less building, which will probably show up on another SRMW structure. I had to compress the arrangement to fit the structures into the location I have selected. More on that later.
