Frank...

Good lead on the Tomar link.

Pretty amazing how some of these kits and parts dies stay around.

As it was then...... a lot of these companies are small niche operations out of a garage or something like that. But they keep going.

thanx
Bob
Did you ever notice how many towns are named after their water towers ! ?

Frank, great modeling.  I like the trees and I agree - more trees!!

JAN,

Thank you for stopping by. Lager Photo's - HMMM, I think I will have to ask John Siekirk how he gets such large photos.  In the meantime, I'll keep taking the "little bit larger" pics. Hope they work for you. Sometimes bigger only shows more imperfections, not saying that there are any. Right. Keep watching. more pics soon.

Bob,

You are so right. Just when you think the product is dead, up pops another company that has purchased the product. Sometimes this happens over and over again.  I can think of several companies/products that have have been resurrected several times. That is good for us. And most of the time it is the garage or basement businesses that do this.

Good Morning Phil.

Good to hear from you. I hope all is well with you, the your move went well and your new house is close to completion.  Been working on a couple of honey do projects in addition to the railroad. Difficult to convince the wife that some of things need to take a back seat so I can complete a large section of the layout for the photography shoot. October will be here before you know it.

Little Falls is shaping up. lots of foliage clusters. just received 5 bags yesterday from Scenic Express and will be ordering more on Monday. This layout is eating them up. And trees, well what can I say. I just opened a box of 70, so they should last thru this scene, or at least I hope so. Spending a lot of time on the "Topside Creeper". Boy is that hard on your stomach muscles and back. Great product though. Really helps with the long reach. Next layout the depth will be no longer that 20 inches, it there is another layout.

Have a great weekend and give me a call sometime. Perhaps we could even Skype.

My experience with trees and shrubs is that after you put the first one out there ....

It yells for a 1000 more ! ! ! !

Frank,

To be a copy cat, I agree with what Tom Boyd said.  Keep working hard as I know you are.  Your doin' excellent my friend on all your improvements to the layout.  Mr. Sassi is an excellent modeler/gentleman/photographer and even he can make your layout look good. ha.  I'm teasing!  (hey Lou) what's that? yes, I'll start checking under my car for blinking lights. ha.

Frank congrats on being put in print soon, you deserve it my friend and it's really fun being able to witness MR, MRH & MRC and other great publications send great photographers, like Lou S. around to capture all the great talents of this "Worlds Greatest Hobby" has to offer.

I can't wait for ACL1504's turn in print as well, hopefully soon also.  Tom is an excellent, excellent modeler/gentleman as well, working hard on his incredible layout with excellent backdrops also.  Oh, with all the great modeling and all the great modeling products, videos and help today!, I wish I was 20 again, so I could enjoy the next 50 years of hobby/photography technology evolutions.  (All you young kids take note)!

Okay, ok, I get it! I'm a big phat (fat) dreamer. ha, but isn't that what part of this hobby is about capturing?  Have a good day!  y'all!   Thanx Thom...

Thom,

As you can probably guess, I have been busy with scenery. Lots of it. Progress is slow, but consistent. There was a swap meet yesterday and Russ, my neighbor, and I drove over to check out the bargains. Purchased an old Ulrich stake bed truck & trailer. The stakebeds are in great condition. I have three more stake bed trailers in my drawer. Now I need to figure out how to duplicate the stake sides for the remaining trailers. the cab is in so-so condition.

Been real busy with foliage cluster. Time flies by when you are applying them. Keep finding out places that I want to add some more rock formations. Also need to order some more scenic material from Scenic Express. Took another picture on the East side of Little Falls with train on the bridge. Looks kind of cool. Here a couple more pics.

Frank,

Nice pictures, the scenery is looking very nice, especially the overhead on the bridge. What I would like to know is, when did the Erie purchase a VR B class, they must have had a tough time re-gauging the trucks. Looking very nice.

Bob

Good Morning Bob,

I received an email from this company showing the new engine. While it really did not go with my Erie theme, it had a "Erie" like flag on both ends. With a little cutting and application of the Erie diamond, I had a new engine. So much for any technical regauging, it looks and runs very well. I also installed sound in the base. Just a little creative application and "if you like it, buy it" philosophy.
Thanks for stopping by.

Good Morning John,

Thanks for stopping by. Glad you are enjoying the rock work. Lots of it. The area you speak of will be a waterfalls. Still on the horizon. Trying to fill in the land masses with all the ground cover first and then get to the water.
