Thanks Rodney , John if I had a paint booth I would use it , not sure if I'll get a booth now that I am switching to all Vallejo Air for airbrushing . The occasional spray can painting I do in a separate room , I wear a mask and then retreat from that room.

You have a good plan - I wouldn't build a paint booth for the Vallejo paints - I use mine for rattle can painting of my caspia
for my pine trees and for some colors of primer that I still use rattle cans for. I can see a day coming when the rattle can painting will be nonexistent.  I wonder if you can sell floquil paints on eBay? ;)  I have a pretty big stash that I haven't ouched in a few years.

John,

Floquil is selling on Ebay.

The inside of the cab , it will hardly be visible from the outside but I decided to paint the wood planked doors and floor and later on the instruments on the dashboard.

The doors were done with 3 color's to make them look like real wood.

My bag of ballast to keep the roof in place while the glue sets.

I love photo's, don't we all.

I know what you mean. The raw brass really show the detail in them.

This is what I got done the last 2 days, after this it's painting and weathering.

Painted and weathered the wood floor , it will hardly be visible but I know it's there.

The photo-etched radiator.

Just to see if everything fits as should.

Ladder to top of hood.

All sprues are empty , and I have these separate assemblies to paint.
I love photo's, don't we all.

Painting the outside begins with priming.

Put together after a first airbrushing of Vallejo Black Primer

Just a little detailing to the interior, the shiny parts are supposed to be there, to make metal look used and handled I use an 8B ( very soft ) pencil.

The hood and cab after a 2nd primer airbrushing.
I love photo's, don't we all.

Jan,

Fantastic job on the details.  The door interior look great. I often do little details like that even though you mostly can't see them. It makes me feel better about the build just knowing I've above and beyond the normal build.

Again, fantastic job.

Jan,
This is a great build to watch!  All of the extra detail you're doing really stands out.

Jan

The build is coming along nicely, the floor and interior look awesome.

Thanks Tom , Mark , Jim. Doing the details inside is a good way to practice for the outside, and like you said , knowing it's there makes it worth it.

Trumpeter kits are really fun to build , everything fits perfect , instructions are good and you can hardly mess it up.
I love photo's, don't we all.
