Thank you for the kind and generous compliment on the layout. Larger photos take more time to load but I will experiment with a larger photo format so that you don't have to click on the photo to see the complete picture.

Since I was somewhat sidelined and playing Mr. Gimpy Leg, I decided to add water to the Suwannee River Lagoon area.

This is how the river basin looked prior to adding the water.

After some research and use of other water effects products, I decided to go with Magic Water by Unreal Details.

I used the water effects product from Woodland Scenics and wasn't happy with the results. It left a haze over the water.

I've used Envirotex in the past and although it looks great for a couple of years, over time it yellows and crystallizes as well.

I've seen great looking water and read many great/favorable articles on Magic Water, so I gave it a try.

I'll need to get a cold Diet Pepsi for the rest of this posting.

I also spoke with Dave Williams, owner of Unreal Water. I had a question or two about the product prior to using it. More on that conversation later in the thread.

I mixed the two parts, 1 part "A" to 2 parts "B" and mixed thoroughly for 10 minutes, let it sit a few minutes and then mixed another ten minutes. I then poured the first mix into the lagoon and mixed a second batch and poured that on the other end.

The Magic Water really brought out the color of the lagoon and I was very pleased with how it looked after drying.

It started setting after a few hours and was hard to the touch in 24 hours. I didn't have to move it around as it filled in under the docks while seeking it's own level.



Please don't feed the alligators Bridgette. Bridgette is the bridge tender for the bascule bridge.

The water looks great but I plan on having some water activity in the lagoon such as boats and maybe some swimmers. Can't have swimmer without a few alligators here in Fl.


With water activity, the waters won't be smooth as glass as in the photos. This was part of my conversation with Mr. Williams.

He advised me that when the Magic Water is thoroughly dry, after a few days from the initial pouring. I want to add other water effects such as waves,etc.

He also said I could add the ripples/waves as the Magic Water set. I didn't want to stand around and do that for several hours.
He further stated that Mod Podge, clear silicone, gloss medium gels, etc can be used on the top for the desired effects.

I'll be using Mod Podge and follow Dave Frary's video on how he used the Mod Podge on the Seaport diorama.
