I then moved back to the Perkins Farm and set the fence posts. Once the posts were set, I added the barbed wire and stain.

Diet Pepsi time. Back in a few.

I don't remember if it was John Armstrong or Linn Wescott who first demonstrated how to cut in a turnout using the Midwest Cork Roadbed.

Any how, I still use that method after some 45+ years.

Adding the roadbed correctly will go along way to smoother running trains and looks much more professional than installing it any which way.

I'll add more of the scenery updates tomorrow evening.

Curt,

I do appreciate the very kind compliment. It has been a challenge and fun in doing the scenery.

I'll have more scenery pictures later this evening.

ACL 1504,

As a forum member and a member of the modeling community.  I read & hear articles, comments, forum posts and even videos all stating how modelers today fact overwhelming changes of time & money when modeling a layout or diorama.

Well let me be (if not the first), but at least the next one to say Thank You for explaining, showing & demonstrating tried & true staple techniques on track & switch installations (with respect to proper setup).

You convey a proper & professional product (i.e.-this thread).  I appreciate the time & money you've taken to explain to myself and others how to in fact save both time & money modeling something as important as a simple switch install.

It's a real shame when I see others spend their time & money building & demonstrating their layout installs whilst wasting my time & money buying or viewing how not to build a layout properly the first time.

You are a true inspirational modeler and I get it!  When I follow your example to do modeling, your drilled message hits on target and it makes me stop & think of how I can save time & money doing it right instead of having to go back and keep redoing it in the future where time & money are truly becoming harder to collect.

I hope readers are reading between the lines here and see the real point.  Mr. Robo Cop, keep working your AS on down the line. I'm all eyes!  KP-out...

Are you sure my mother didn't put you up to posting that?

I sincerely thank you very much for the kind and thought provoking compliment. I'm not sure I deserve all the encomium as I'm still learning as I build along.

Again, I appreciate your kind support of my work.

I added the fence corner bracing. The ends of the braces have been touched up with A&I.

All the trees are now in place on the south end of the layout. The wet areas at the bottom of the sand hill is matte medium. It will dry clear.
