ACL 1504,
Wow!!! 👍👍 Very realistic scene.  I believe if I look close enough, I can see cow patties?  You absolutely have a great eye for modeling, even to the point that if Allen Keller was still filming Great Model Railroads, this layout would have been in catalog. No doubt to me...  It's my honor to say I know TL.  Keep squeezin' that glue bottle my friend!  Thanx Thom...

Very nice scenery work there Tom.
I recall Lance Mindheim saying that scenes such as you have created help to break up the "city scenes" and thus make the layout appear larger.
You are doing excellent work on your layout. Congrats !

And yes, I agree with you Thom. It's a shame there isn't an "Allen Keller" around these days as there are some really fine looking layouts that feature on this forum that would be deserving of a visit.

Neat and Organized , just got replaced by Fooling Others  ;) , haha you had us good Tom. But if that's what it takes to become a master scenery artist I have no problems at all with Clutter and Debris
I love photo's, don't we all.

Hi Tom,

Your cattle pasture is looking great, and I like the story you are telling with the LP.  The guy with the broken down pickup better not agitate that bull.

Curt,

Thank you, the dirt road was an after thought. I remember seeing the well worn path of the farmer's vehicle in many pastures around central Florida.

Thom,

Thank you sir, and yes, you did see a cow patty. I think I dropped three or four, didn't have any others. This is a clean pasture. For now anyway.

I guess I came along to late in the game for Keller. Oh well, it would have been nice.

Again, thank you.

David,

Thank you, very much appreciate the kind compliment on the layout and my work. I've really enjoyed making the different scenes. I like the idea on the layout that it appears to go several different locations in one turn around the room.

Jan,

I thought you two were kidding at first! Then I realized in looking at the pictures it did appear to be an organized area. But as you know, it wasn't what it seemed.

I have all kind of stuff, tools, materials, etc. all over the place when I'm working on a scene or scenery. Not sure it ever gets fully cleaned up - just pushed away for more work space. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for following along.

Steve,

Thank you for the kind support on the layout work. The bull is looking for some hay, I think. ;D  Farmer Perkins is keeping the truck between him and the bull.

I've been working on the layout for 10 hours now. Going to take a break and then post some updates on the days progress.

My classmate who lives in VT was telling me about the herd of cows that got spooked in a recent storm and wandered into their yard.  They stomped on some newly planted flowers and left "souvenirs" all over the yard.  They were not amused, but chalked it up to "Life in the Northeast Kingdom" (that part of VT that borders Canada and overhangs NH.)

I decided I could better utilize the space at the south end of the layout. Several years ago, Reading Bob and I made a swap of FOS' Caldwell Junction. He gave me the diorama he built and I gave him my still in the box kit.

Of course I had to remove the structures from the diorama and rearrange the building fit my area.

More in a few.

Dave,

Great story. Reading Bob told me how to make cow patties but I haven't done so yet. I need to make a few "pasture land mines" for a more natural look. :o :o
