Since I kit bashed the four kits into one long section, I had three support stands left over. I used one of these extra sections to support the additional platform.

I glued the stairs and side railing together and painted the parts with Tamiya Nato Black.

When the black paint dried to the touch, I painted the top of the railings with Floquil Reefer Yellow. When dry, I glued the end platform, stairs and support in place.

Here is how it looks.

I mentioned I incorrectly measured the width of the platform but decided not to redo or fix it.

The mistake isn't noticeable from the side. However, looking down from a top view it is very noticeable. On the layout, it will not be possible to get a full top down view of the platform.

So, no harm, no problem.

When I assembled the large Magnuson Fuel tank, I carelessly allowed some super glue to rundown and horizontally across the tank side. I didn't really notice it was an issue until I painted the tank with Tamiya Silver.

I used wet/dry sandpaper to remove the extra super glue.

I sanded three separate times and sanded a little more off with each pass. I was careful not to sand off the rivet details.

Once repainted it looked fine. Weathering will also help.

Hopefully, I won't make anymore mistakes for a few days, weeks or months. Heck, I'll be happy to survive the next few hours. :P :P

The additional platform came out well Tom.  The slight size difference really doesn't take away from the look, which looks great!

Nice job repairing the minor faux pas on the big tank.  The platform, pipes and stairs are looking good too.

Mark,

Thank you. When viewed from the side the difference doesn't show but I thought I'd point it out all the same.

Chris,

Really good to see you back on the forum.

I've been very busy over the past 6 months as you can see and I'm glad you had the opportunity to go back a review it all. It has been fun.

Bob,

Thank you sir.

Can't remember the movie but I remember Dan Aykroyd said it.

This was a fun little project and now I'm thinking about lighting the platform for night time operations.

Okay, I'll give you partial credit.   ;)  Dan Aykroyd spoke that line in "Trading Places".   8)
