ACL1504

In my world I thought everyday was a Saturday. Now, with all the 1:1 stuff I'm doing, I'm beginning to wonder.

Anyway, I continued making the concrete driveway for the fuel facility. After all the cardboard was glued in place and dry, I added scribed expansion joints every 15 HO scale feet. I used a pointed hole tip to scribe the lines.

I then painted a layer of full strength white glue over the cardboard. I've mentioned this method in the past. I add the white glue to seal the cardboard from future humidity issues  that may arise due to the changes in humidity.

Here the location of the horizontal tanks and the office. For a few weeks, I had the two reversed but like this much better.

I removed the structures and the fuel rack and painted the concrete with full strength Floquil Concrete.

Notice the scribed lines are no longer visible? Well, they are there but I'll need to redo them. I can just barely make out the original lines.

More tomorrow.

Awesome modeling Tom. Are you doing oily dirt under the platform?

Awesome Scene Tom.

Just let me point a couple of things that are not right................AH, Gee, I seem to be having a problem.  I can't seem to find anything that doesn't look right.

Curt,

Thank you, much appreciated as always.

Yes, I'll dirty oil and fuel stains on the bottom. The reason I haven't done it as yet is due to I can't decide if I want dirt of gravel under the platform.

Bob,

Thanks, and so do I! I'll be happy to see this one finished. It seems like it takes a hundred little things to get one scene going.

I added new expansion lines to the concrete pad. Not much else to say for that.

I also started the weathering process for the fuel platform. It will be a several step process but here is a look at the first application.

Here is a before look.

I applied a coat of A&I stain to the pipes. I used Hunterline Light Gray for the first application.

When that dried, I added some Hunterline Medium Brown. The medium bown looks like spilled fuel oil.

I've added more medium brown and in a few days will finish the pipe weathering. These photos show the front pipes but all the pipes were weathered in the same manner.

The fuel facility area is five feet in length. I want to enclose it all with a chain link fence.

I'm using 1/16" brass rod for the posts and horizontal top brace. This fence will be 10' high as I think that is to high for any gators to get in or get out.

In this next photo you can see Allie Gator trying to get out of the fenced area. This fence is 8 feet high. Chris Hughes picture.
