Okay,

I have a correction to make on the number of pictures. I got to thinking, dang that is a whole bunch of pictures. I checked my gallery number and only had 3050 showing, not 3,950. So, I set out to find the number difference.

Almost 10 months ago, I transposed a number in the gallery and kept counting from there. :'( :'(

So, I only have 3,050 pictures on the two threads. Still a lot of pictures.

Now the fun part was I spent several hours this afternoon renumbering 900 pictures to reflect the correct/corresponding number.

I continued work on the oil facility today.

I added gravel to the base of the three horizontal tanks. I brushed on full strength white glue and then added the gravel. The gravel is actually CSX ballast from Arizona Rock.

When the glue was dry, I brushed off the excess gravel.

I made another test fit with the base and used a pencil to trace the outline of the base on the plywood.

You can also see I ballasted or graveled (sp) around the large tank. The color difference is due to the matte medium I used on the gravel around the tank. It's still wet.

I next added the three horizontal tanks and piping.

Here's a much better view of the piping around and under the tanks.

The pump house was added to the rear of the pipes.

Great modeling Tom! And we sure are enjoying all the pictures you are posting-thank you for putting in the time to share your work with us.  So what do you have planned for the next 3000+ photographs? ;)  I'm enjoying following along my friend.  And learning a thing or two along the way, too! It's good to see you feeling better!

The area looks great. Are you going to weather the tanks or keep them new looking?

Excellent modeling Tom!  I am amazed at how fast you work and still able to keep the quality of the work at A+ levels.  Thanks again for all of the photo-journalism that you provide as you progress.

John,

Thank you my friend. For the next 3000+ will be more of the layout and the center isle of the second level and the  third level as well.

Glad you are getting something out of all the posts.

Curt,

Thank you as always kind sir. Yes, the tanks are being weathered. In fact they already are. I've just been behind on posting all the updates.

Mark,

Thank you, very much appreciate the kind words. I've been a bit lazy working on the layout as late. The flu had me down for 2+ weeks. I just try to model the best I can. Of course learning from past mistakes sure helps. 8) 8)
