You may be tired of my level photos

Quite the contrary. You've been showing how critical precision work is for premium operational performance.

Dave,

Measuring was no problem, I just attached it to the wrong location on the wall board. :'( :'( :'(

Larry,

Thank you, yes, it is critical and I'll have more on this later this evening.

Today I installed the cross bracing on the area above the lubritorium.

I marked on the outer side of the 1X3 the location of the end of the 1X3 brace. I installed #'s 4, 3, 5, 2, 6  and 1 in that order.

More in a few.

The upper level is even with the lower level bench work, distance wise from the edge of the Ovalix.

I managed to get the 1X3 9' 8.25" front board level.

However,  the weight of the bench work sags just enough so as to not be center bubble as shown, lower on the left.

This is the #4 cross brace.

In the next few days I'll show you how the problem was solved.

I scratch built one on my old, old layout and then re-engineered it into a coal dump ramp.

Here is the one from the old, old layout.

This new one won't be as high as the old one.

More in a few.
This is a fantastic looking bridge, well done.

Thom,

No, I've never been a "dam" builder but I've been know to be a "damn" builder. My dad owned Slemons and Langford Construction Co. and on many occasions as a younster,  I would stand around and watch the workers and ask many questions.
