Greg,

I'll be sure to stay tuned as long as you promise to stay off the layout bench work. 8)

So far we have Greg Speed and now Gregize, I wonder whats next?
Tom ;D

Perhaps a Gregorian chant when he enters the room?

Chip,

Great idea, but when he came over yesterday, he didn't chant anything. :'(

Tom ;D

First off.....if I started chanting, your neighbors would probably call 911.   :(

Second.....I thought y'all were supposed to chant when I entered the shed.  ;D ;D ;D

For the power supplies is it possible to use old desktop  computer power supplies because of thier low voltage outputs ?

Lynn,

That, I can't say as I don't know enough to offer a correct answer. However, for the $14.00 and change, why not get the real thing?

Yes I didn't realize they were so inexpensive. Unfortuneatly they don't ship up here in Ontario and amazon.ca there is a rather large price difference. Same thing happened when I was looking for Krylon Camoflage Sand and Rustoleum Camoflage Sand, found it on .com but won't ship to Canada and its not available in Canada.

My experience with computer power supplies is only with them still in the computers, but comments I've heard from others indicate it applies to salvaged power supplies too:  They're designed for the useful life of the computer, maybe 5-6 years if your local grid power is relatively clean.  In other words, use 'em if you have a source, but expect to replace them every once in a while.  They're a lot more efficient than the ancient MRC power packs still working for their 3rd owner and 8th layout, but not as durable.

Greg,

Thank you. Yes, the new location of the turntable and roundhouse will work just fine.

Lynn,

It's a real shame you cant' get these items in Canada without paying the higher prices.

Thanks for picking me up on this one. I have no experience at all on this issue.

Okay, we've had a few good laughs at Greg's expense. He has been a great sport to take it all.

Now, back to the serious matters of building this empire.

This afternoon I pulled a few more buss wires. More on this later in the thread.

This afternoon I also added a new sandy road to the rural station area.  A few months ago I built KC's Workshop depot. Here is where I planted it. It is the small structure in the top center of the photo.

I spread some white playground sand from the main dirt/sand road to the depot area. I then wet it with "wet water" and added a liberal amount of matte medium to the sand.

More in a few.

As the matte medium was drying, I added a few weeds.

Here are a few extra photos of the area.
