The lights look great Tom. The local Hobby Lobby had discounted these a while ago and I bought a bunch and planned on using them on my Telephone Co. build. I need to finish that thread too.. :o :o

Dan,

Thank you. I've never seen these lights in the Hobby Lobby in my area. But then we only have 6 in the Central Fl. area and I've only been to one.

Now, get back to your thread.

Nothing earth shattering.  I just need to recover a little bit more from some recent health issues first before I get started.

Cousin Brucie,

I sent you a PM. Hope all is well.

Today is the Judge's Birthday. So, Happy Birthday Judge.

Also, over the past week or so, I some how pulled my right hamstring. It hurt like he-- and I'm now in a compression brace. I have a bunch of anti inflammatory medication. I hate taking medication of any kind but I hate being laid up with the injury which has kept my appearance in the train room very limited.

Just wanted ya'll to know I'm still plugging away on the build.

I installed some LED lighting on the rural station and cracker house.

#2118
I decided to tackle the lighting on the old Sinner's Mill. This structure is a Model Tech Studio kit. I renamed it Sinner's Mill as I felt like it was a sin to but a kit on the market with the instructions as bad as those were. I did add my own little changes as well.

I removed the gooseneck light shades and support bars/arms.

I decided to use these as they were. I used a #76 drill and drilled a small hole in the shade as close to the support arm as possible. I then painted the underside of the shade with Golden Fluid Acrylics Titanium White.

Time for a cold Diet Pepsi, back in a few.

I added the LEDs to the shades and wrapped the wires around the arm and used CA glue to hold the wires in place.

I used Floquil Weathered Black and painted the wires. When dry, I placed the gooseneck lights back on the structure.

Here is how the goosenecks look. The structure is basically a back ground flat and sits 21.5 inches from the front edge of the layout.

The wires wrapped around the goosenecks can't be seen.

This next photo is out of focus, sorry bout that.

I also added a loading dock light.

I didn't light the Sinners Mill sign as I thought it would not look good with all the lights.

If you had illuminated the "Sinners Mill" sign, you could use some spare space for a tent meeting (I've seen them in Florida) and use the offering/collection to offset the expenses of the empire construction. Just sayin'.  8)
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Chip,

Tent meetings are all over Florida but not on the A&S RR. I've had my fill of those types. Ever try to shut one down due to no permit?

It ain't fun.

Thom,

I appreciate the kind and generous compliment. However, George doesn't need to worry about me. He is the master of building all things structure wise.

Cousin Brucie,

All is well here with me and all things medical. I do however have a hamstring injury holding me back some little bit.
