The trunks and the bark are sensational.

Jan,

Thank you, I wish you could see them in person. They are certainly better than my little camera shows.

Appreciate you stopping by and posting your comment.

Yesterday I started work on the roundhouse restoration. I numbered all the stalls 1-9. In the photo below I lost my mind and reversed the numbers. Of course, when the roundhouse floors are in place, #1 is on the left and #2 is on the right.

I'll fast forward here 5 hours and show I have five out of nine stalls restored.

I'll hold off installing the doors until I get the roundhouse tracks installed.

As you can see the interior is dark. I plan on lighting the interior with LEDs.

In the above picture you'll note the holes drilled in the top beams. These are guide holes for the .032" brass buss wires.

In the photo below, you can see where I reamed out two .032" in the side of the wall just below the roof panel.

Here is how it will look with the buss wires installed.

Here I've soldered the ends of the brass wire together.

Since the smoke funnels interfere with the buss wires, I removed them. I'd rather have the LED lighting than the smoke funnels. But then I can always move them.

It is amazing how many tools accumulate during a work session.

Time for a Diet Pepsi and end the night.

Too bad the tools don't put themselves away!

Great progress Tom. That is a neat idea with the brass wiring. It sure looks more real than a lot of dangling wires.

Dave,

Yes, it would be nice and then just maybe I could find them when needed. 8) 8)

Curt,

Thank you, much appreciated. There will be a total of 36 LEDs in the roundhouse ceiling.

Work on the roundhouse restoration continued yesterday. I got two more stalls fixed and in place by noon.

Later in the day I finished the remaining two stalls.

In the photo above you'll see the right wall in place. It isn't secure. Here in lies a problem and decision I needed to make concerning using this wall.

I want to have the interior seen by visitors. If I leave the wall in place and make it removable, this brings another issue to the front.

Here is an interior view of the wall.

There are nine stalls and eight sets of interior support posts. The two outside walls act as supports for the roof panels.

So, nine stalls and eleven roof supports. Remove a wall and there is no support for the outer side roof panels.

I need to use one or the other but both won't fit in place. In the next photo you can see a set of supports next to the wall section.

Since I'm also using the brass wires as electrical conduits for the LEDs the outer wall section won't work.
