Wow. That is a lot of progress. I wanted to get down there for a visit but with my upcoming family commitments now it won't be until August most likely.

The outside track, running around and behind the roundhouse is also the reverse track.

In the above photo, the track to the left of the water tank is to far to the left. I need it to be more in line and parallel to the inbound service tracks.

The turnout and track in the next photo show where I need the top track positioned.

I pulled up the track and PECO pins and realigned the track.

The next photo shows how the track was realigned to be parallel with the service tracks.

More in a few.

Curt,

Thanks, I've put my 6-8 hours a day to very good use.

When free come on over, you know where I'll be.

By the way, over the years I've accumulated quite a stash of short sections of track. A few are as short as 3 inches. When I need a short section I go to my track stash instead of cutting a small section off the new track.

This has worked very well over the years.

The track between the water tank and coaling tower is the out bound track.

I'm perplexed?
Didn't see in the video where the engine pulled up enough to the tender to water down the hot ashes like you did in your most excellent video?  Someone should let the Durango & Silverton crew know they're doing it all wrong.  KP-out...

Sure is nice to have a lot of room for engine facilities on your layout.

Wonderful progress!

Note to self - wear a protective cup if Greg is running a train around that outside loop.   :P  :o

Tom - The ash pit fire is a feature I have never seen before.  Good touch!  I like your ash pit hoist better than the loader. But I guess it will save some labor costs so some of our guys will be out of a job. . . . Oh,yeah, I forgot about all the grading, ballasting, and track laying that has to be done.  We'll need to hire some more helpers to finish the job.  Maybe Farmer Perkins will give us a few of his orange pickers on a temporary basis.  That is, unless they have all migrated to Rochester, N.Y. for summer work.
