John, the building is looking great. With all the other beautiful details I somehow managed to overlook your nice work on the stone quoins. They are really standouts against the brick.

Hadn't checked in since returning from the Expo. We sure did miss you. Threadwell's is coming along beautifully!

Dave

Thank you for the kind words and yes I sure missed seeing you guys, too.  The timing and cost just didn't work out on the home front.  I hope to be there next year.

I moved back onto the Threadwell's main structure, today.  The dormers and trim are next.  Finding ways to get the right stickup to hold the dormers in place while gluing them was a challenge.

This is one of those jobs where you needed to measure and align three times, glue it down, and then check it again.

Before I could add the roof cards on the dormers I need to figure out if I wanted them lit up in a night scene.

I concluded that it would add a lot of character to the scene so I first tried adding a 3/8 inch hole through the main roof card to let the light in. After a lighting test I decided I wanted more light.

I then added rectangular holes in the roof card to maximize the amount of light get into the dormers.

This picture shows the slots that I cut into the roof card.

After I get these dormers and the trim completed, I plan on cutting and installing all of the rafter ends all of the Threadwells and Delabarre Structures. That's a lot of rafter ends.
