John,

Comparing the two photos I think the roof looks better in the second.  I agree with the other comments, go with it.

Jerry

I like the second better too. And the camera likes it better - I went over the lighter parts of the roof with a darker shade of grey chalk. Thanks for following along.

It time to get caught up with this build thread.  I have been moving kinda slow the past three weeks - back problems caused by trying to do all the yard work the one nice day we had the whole month of November. I'm working at a 30 percent throttle maximum now - up from about 10 percent. Anyway I have been working on a number of the subassemblies for this build - the stairways, tar paper shacks and various add ons to the main structure. The construction techniques are the same as I used for the main structures so I will let the pictures do the talking for the progress update.

That's what's on the workbench today - I have a few more details to add to the subassemblies and then the rest of the work will be done after they are attached to the main structures.  The last step for today was to give all the wood for the various decks and loading docks a bath in A&I. Tomorrow morning, they will be ready for the assembly.

Some really fantastic detailing in the roofs, I like the little A/I bathtub, has it ever rolled over on you?  ;D

Thanks for the kind words. The A&I bathtub works real well the drain valve make it stable on the workbench.
