Doug,
Thanks very much, the track laying and planning has really been great therapy.
I would have been more productive today but it isn't wise to use the table saw in the rain. :P :P

Tom  ;D

Then move the saw indoors!
Jeeesh!

Chip,

Yepper, only problem with that is I have no control over the fine sawdust. I'm sure you don't need to ask why have all this excellent knowledge. 8)

Progress has been slow and steady on the third level track work. All the mainline cork is now glued in place as mentioned in a previous post.

Yesterday I added the lift out bridge over the "Great Divide". I built it in the same way as I did the staging and second level liftouts.

Back in a few, going to grab a Diet Pepsi. Yes, I fell off the wagon when I lost my two Chihuahua babies and lived through the double root canal. When this batch is gone, I'll confess my sin and start over.

The third level liftout is 38" in length and from floor to rail head is 57 3/4". I used a piece of 1X3 ash for the span.

Yes, it is level!

SAL GP #1803 with 16 cars and a caboose made the trip over the Great Divide with no problems.

Now it's time to finish the track work and drop the feeders to the buss line.

Mainline loop in place.....how about starting the A&S 500 - steam vs. diesel around the oval.....we could charge admission, get sponsors (call Slim and Groovy).....this could be bigger than Daytona..... ;D

Jim,

Thank you, I'll put some others up to show the third level mainline.

Curt,

Thank you and yes, it is a long way to the floor. There is a speed limit over the Great Divide.

Steve,

Yes, I agree. Falling of the wagon with DP is certainly better than Scotch. Thank you for the compliment on the layout. Getting the third level mainline finished is a great feeling.

John,

You know me, not much grass grows under my modeling feet. I do plan on adding some side panels or girders to the third level bridge.
