Dennis asked how the rail was attached to the plastic street sections.

Here is what and how I did it.

I used the NMRA track gauge and some gool old CAA glue.

I ran my test car over the rails to make sure the rails were in the grooves. I used the track gauge and when in place added a small drop of CAA to the bottom of the rail.

Notice the small tube in the top of the CAA? This is a teflon tube. I cut a small hole in the top so the tube fit. This allowed me to "pinpoint" the glue to the area and not all over the painted and weathered street.

The Teflon tube allows the super glue to funnel back into the bottle without it clogging at the top.

I've had the Gulf Gas Station in this location for about two weeks. I've decided I just don't like how it looks in this area.

So, the station is going back on the shelf for now. I'll search my stash and find one to build or is already built that will better fit location.

I'm going back to work on the second level. I need to get moving on the river area.

Now the area is ready for some new work.

I need to build a new retaining wall for the north side.

The retaining wall section on the south side is from my old layout.

Something borrowed, something new and all that - ;D

I use .040 styrene so much I went to a local plastics dealer, and bought a 4' x 8' sheet for $30 - a lifetime supply.  The only "problem" is that it's black instead of white.  But for a lot of uses, particularly structure subwalls, black is actually better.  It's just harder to do layout, pencil marks don't show up very well on the black plastic.

Hey Uncle Tommie,
Would a Jason Jensen Kitbash work in place of the Gulf station?  Or perhaps an old fashioned "Stucky's" store?

;D ;D :o
