Looking good, Tom.

I agree about the service station.  I think you perhaps need something with a bit more heft to it.

Cheers, Mark.

Hi Tom, Whats that building to the left of your Gulf Station? Thanks Dennis

Dennis - That building is the Bar Mills - Sokol's Furniture and Mattress Company which I had the great pleasure of building for Tom.  I also did a separate thread on Lighting Bar Mills Sokol's Furniture and Mattress Company.  I put somewhere around 40 LED's inside and outside of that structure.  It'll probably light up the second level of Tom's layout all by itself.   8)

I use .040 styrene so much I went to a local plastics dealer, and bought a 4' x 8' sheet for $30 - a lifetime supply.  The only "problem" is that it's black instead of white.  But for a lot of uses, particularly structure subwalls, black is actually better.  It's just harder to do layout, pencil marks don't show up very well on the black plastic.

dave

Dave,

Wow, great deal on the .040 sheet. Black would be perfect for the inside/subwalls as you said. Don't know if I'd ever use that much or even have a place to store it.

Dennis,

Bob was kind enough for answering this you. Me, myself and I are very happy he lives in the area and is willing to build structures. I'm not sure where I'd be, on the layout build, if I had to take the time to build the structures he has built for me.

Hey Uncle Tommie,
Would a Jason Jensen Kitbash work in place of the Gulf station?  Or perhaps an old fashioned "Stucky's" store?

;D ;D :o

Cousin Brucie,

Yes, it would. My kitbash version of Jensen's kitbash is now in place. I'll let this sit for a few days and go from there. At this time, I like the kitbash here.

Dennis,

Yes, he most definitely is and not just for the model building.

Sorry to hear they don't produce Sokol's anymore. It is a great looking model of a furniture factory,

Mark,

Thank you, the station is back on the shelf. I do have a few kits in mind to add to this area.

I thought about Bar Mills Decker's Tar and Soap but it would take to much room.

The Gulf station is now back on the shelf. I've moved KC's Workshop (Jensen kitbash) to that area and like it better. However, I'll leave it there a week or so. Also, I made a pass through my kit stash and found three possible kits to fit in the area along with the kitbash of Jason Jenson's kitbash.

I also considered using Bar Mills Decker's Tar and Soap for the area but the kit is just a little to much for the space.

I think FOS Carter Supply would fit next to the tire shop. FOS picture taken for the FOS site.

One other is Hollis Pest Control - photo from FOS site. If I use this one, I can dump all the pest control waste into the river.

And finally Rohlen Welding - photo from FOS site.

Oh, I forgot to add that the new retaining wall was painted this fine day.

I just used ACE Hardware rattle can Primer.
