Work continues on the river area. I cut some .020 styrene strips and glued them around the cork as shown below.

Once the retaining wall is in place and painted I'll fill it with talous.

I decided to place Gusano's Mexican joint between the paved road and the rural post office.

I decided to use my kitbash version of the Jenson kitbash next to Bar Mills Sokols. Between the Jenson kit and the river I'll use the FOS Hollis Pest Control.

For the roadway over the river, I plan to use a steel bridge and Rix early highway overpass. The structure will be kitbashed. The steel bridge will be in the middle and the overpass sections will be on each end.

In the photo below, you can see my 4' level with the steel bridge in the middle. Of course it will be level with the roadway.

Looking great, Tom.

I was going to say - tough choice - but I think I like Hollis pest control best with its larger one story section and multiple roof lines.  I see you have already decided.  Looking forward to this area taking shape.

Cheers, mark.

Tom:  How do you do your transition in levels of the spur track off the main (as shown in the above photo)?

The river area is going to look awesome.

Curt,

Yes, I agree, I'm getting excited about the project. I need to get the road laid up to the river first.

Mark,

Thank you. I think Hollis is the best structure for the spot as you said. I had a few others but they were just to big for the area.

Hey Larry,

Thanks for stopping by and for the question. I think you are talking about this siding.

If so, the cork roadbed and the pink foam are the same thickness. It wasn't necessary to make any adjustments to the track.

I have many projects going on concerning the layout. None ready for prime time as yet but I've been busy.

Rumor has it the local Ticket Agent (The Judge) has purchased two new Illinois Central E units.

One of the projects is refitting the IC heavyweights with new LED lighting, replacing the MCCrappy couplers and adding marker lights to the observation car. Hopefully I'll have some photos to share tomorrow afternoon.
