I had never heard of these before this post. Nosing around on James Harr's site, I saw the Snyder Milling complex. Really like it - great fit for my setting. Too bad he hung up the spurs.

I don't know if he ever made a kit of that building -- guess I'll have to set up a trigger in eBay and see if anything pops up in the next few years.

Stella Scale made a kit of the Snyder Milling complex. If my memory serves me right it sold out. Ralph DeBlasi did a build thread on it. It is out on the interwebs on some "other forums".

BEST did a video of some of the work that James Harr and Byan Bollinger did for a commissioned project for a museum. I never got to see that video though.

I took a bunch of photos of the pilot model for Snyder Milling at the first Expo. Maybe I'll get motivated this evening and find them.

Yep, I have this one in my stash as well.  When I first saw it the structure just screamed out hometown to me.  It looked like it belonged in any one of the small towns around the area I grew up in.

When I purchased it I showed it to Tom and he wanted one as well.  As chance would have it I had a balance in my PayPal account so we made some sort of deal, the details of which escape me, and I ordered one for him as well.  When I ordered the second one it alarmed Jim Harr who sent me an e-mail asking if everything was alright with the first kit he had sent me.  He was concerned that something was wrong with it and that's why I had ordered a second one.  I assured him the first kit was fine and the second kit was for someone else.  Now that's customer service.  Too bad Jim opted to focus on custom model building and got out of the kit manufacturing business.  I loved the designs he came up with.   :D

Yep, any building with big windows and an interior cries out to be lit up. However, for some odd reason I'm a little reluctant to suggest that Tom light anything up.  ::)

I would imagine that you are going o source Diet Pepsi signs to replace the Coke signs.  Can't have that other brand in Tom's city!

Trust me on this one, if I can't find a suitable Pepsi sign, I'll have to settle for the Coke one.  Although I have to admit this Coke sign looks pretty good.

I'll be following along as well Tom.  Always liked Jim's kits and have a couple in my stash.

Mark,

Appreciate you jumping in and following along. I've actually stared the kit and will post some updates later this afternoon or tomorrow.

Greg,

I will be adding lighting effects for sure. I hope Slim's LEDs are better than they were in the past.
