Sorry folks! Can't compete with They Honest - I mean We Honest - I mean - I dunno I'm confused now.  :o

Coming along nicely Tom.

Slim,

I appreciate you stopping by. I just don't have the patience or eyes to solder those nano LEDs you have. I do however, use all the other Slim products. Me be honest as well.

Maybe you could start selling pre-wired micro and nano LEDs.

No worries Tom! If I were to sell the pre-wired's I would just have to get them from places like We Honest and mark them up. No sense in that. They probably have a bunch of kids with nice young eyes and steady hands cranking those buggers out for them. Their goosenecks and other fixtures don't look that bad (better looking than Woodland Scenic ones) and you can't beat the price for them. Theirs are about $1 each and mine are ten times that. Maybe if I drank cheaper bourbon I could reduce my overhead :o

Slim,

I only use their micro LEDs. I prefer to build my own goose necks, using your steel tubing of course.

As promised the Melon sign was sized to fit and added to the rear of the cafe.

I also wired the interior lights for the dining area.

I painted the ceiling with full strength Floquil Old Silver and then glued the micro LEDs to the ceiling.

Here is how the interior looks with four micro LEDs.

NOTE: Not shown are the two additional signs added to the left interior wall.

Here is how I made the sign.

I used Evergreen Strip Styrene, .030" X .080", roughly 2 X 6 to make the marquee sign.

I forgot to photo the signs after I added tape to them. I used clear packing tape and added the tape to both sides of the signs. This not only stiffened the sign but it also gave me a little shine on the face.

I cut four pieces of the styrene and glued two together at 90 degree angles. I made them just slightly larger than the sign.

I then glued both pieces together making sure they were absolutely square.

When dry, I added a short piece to the rear for a mounting bracket.

I then painted the marquee sign box with Floquil Old Silver and set aside to dry.

I then drilled a #76 hole in the box from the bracket side, meaning from the rear.

I then glued one sign to one side.

I didn't want the LED to pull through by accident or otherwise so the drilled hole was smaller than the LED head.

To defuse the LED light, I added two, 2 ply paper towel pieces to the inside of the installed sign. I placed the LED in the middle and added two more pieces of paper towel.

After I got the LED sandwiched between the paper towels, I glued on the other sign.

And here is the sign.

I tried several times to get a decent photo of the lighted sign but the camera keeps making it look like one big light in the middle. I person the sing has a very nice low level light look.
