The next part to be added is the part on the left in the photo below. Paint the red as shown.

The wording on the upper right of the middle part reads, "Soft Drinks." I  took a very fine brush and only fill in the depressed area with the red paint.

The part that fits over the bottle opening goes on next as shown below.

Back in a few, bottled water time.

Next, when the glue was dry, I cut off the dowels and glued on the front piece of the machine. I also used an Emory board to round the top and sides.

When this part was glued and dry, I painted the top (above the lines) with Floquil Reefer White. Be very careful not to get any of the white into the depressed "Soft Drinks".

On the bottom of the front is a "Ice Cold" depression. This was also painted with the reefer white and set aside to dry.

I painted the two parts of the coin box with Floquil Signal Red and when dry glued them together. When dry the coin box was glued to the front of the coke machine.

I then carefully painted around the "Ice Cold" on the bottom.

You can see where I got some white paint in the "soft drink" wording. This was later fixed.

The coke machine was finished and added to the front of the station.

Coming along beautifully, and great thread as always. Love the assembly of the pop machine. Will have to order a few.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Wonderful work as always Tom.  This looks like the corner gas station in every town.

For what It's worth, the doctors have told me the same thing about cutting out the diet sodas.  I find it a very hard thing to do.  Please wish me luck as well in kicking what I am clearly addicted to.

Nice job on this build Tom - I have been looking for a station kit that resembled the old Standard station in Argos, IN but they all seemed to have the opposite floor plan with the bays on the left side. This one looks great. Good job again.

Great build.  Like others have said,  that Coke machine is fantastic.  Kinda looks like a Vendo 56.

Just curious , what are the Doctors saying why you should drop diet coke? I drink a lot of it myself Coca Cola Zero.
I love photo's, don't we all.

Dave,

Much appreciate the compliment, thank you. This is really a nice kit as a stand alone. Darryl has several very nice, one of a kind, kits for detailing.

Cousin Brucie,

Thank you. It does remind us of the small town stations. These days we live in a era of large gas islands.

I think the caffeine in all sodas have us by the short hairs. So far, I haven't had an issue with any cutting back. In the past, I was drinking three a day and now down to just over one a day. I still have 14 left and at the rate I'm now consuming the beverage, I should be good for about three weeks.

Oddly, my doctor never told me to get off sodas but he did say cut back on the carbs.

Doug,

Thank you, very much appreciate the kind compliment. When I first saw this kit on Darryl's site, I knew it would fit perfectly in my town of Tahope set in the early 1950's.
