Hi guys.

Cheers, Mark.

Mark, I'm very happy Wilbur is well.
Star had the same thing happen.
One morning she couldn't use her hind legs.
I was in a remote area and it took over an hour to get to a vet.
I got there and the vet was closed.
But I noticed Star had some use of her legs.
She could walk but still couldn't jump into the van.
I gave it some time and hoped she would improve and after another hour or so she was back to normal.
No idea what caused it.

Mark, so glad to hear Wilbur is doing better!  Mystery illnesses in dogs are really distressing, in part because they can't tell you what's happening and you have to try to deduce symptoms as well as causes.

Glad to hear your pal is better.  Wilbur looks like a perfect name for him.

Your trackwork is coming along nicely as well.

Mark I'm so happy to hear that Wilbur is up and getting back to normal.
Diane and I being dog lovers can feel how sad you must have been.

Give Wilbur an pet for me.

Thank you very much, Rick, David, Jerry and Jeff.

Wilbur is doing well.  In fact, if we didn't know what had happened we wouldn't suspect anything.  We should hear from the vet today.  Michelle sent them a video of Wilbur walking yesterday.  Maybe they can shed some light on things, or at least a best guess.  Meanwhile, I bought a new, big non-slip mat to go in the conservatory to help stop slips (in case it was a sprained back) and we have cut back any growth coming through the slats into Wilbur's run (in case it was a moldy leaf or some such toxin).  Yes, David - if only we could ask Wilbur!

I did get a bit of modelling done yesterday.

Cheers, Mark.

Mark nice to hear Wilbur is doing much better. I know how "heart wrenching" it can be when a beloved pet suddenly has issues. Fingers crossed it was an isolated incident.

Thanks very much Larry and Tom.

Wilbur seems to be back to his old self.  We went for a full 5km walk this morning and he has dog shows tomorrow.

Cheers, Mark.

Hi guys.

We had a 2fatpossums weekend in my garage here over the weekend just gone and I made some progress on the next part of my Fiordland Lobster Company.  It was another fantastic weekend with lots of laughs.  It was also nice to be able to show the guys my progress on this project in situ on the layout and share my results with them.  The layout was in a rather large mess after the removal of all the various dioramas that make up Tellynott in order to do the baseboard replacement and trackwork.  I got things reassembled for the weekend and we all had a look after lunch on Sunday, after I had completed the work on the tower and small wharf.  I have got to say, when looking at the whole scene it feels like a rather large chunk completed.  I'll load some photos of the tower build in my next update.  So first off, here is a reminder of the winter challenge project.  My build thread on this project is some 20 pages long with lots of extra information, how tos, and my philosophy behind the project, so make sure to check it out.

Photo 4 - Building my wharf over a cardboard template I drew up.  The painters tape running long ways is sticky side up.  Once the decking was all on I glued the front larger timber to the end of the joists.  I also glued a smaller piece of timber to the outside of the decking as a kind of kick board.  The gap between these two pieces of chunky timber was 4.5mm, the same size as the piles.

Photo 5 - After the joists and and decking was completed I flipped the assembly over and added pairs of piles between each pair of joists.  The outside piles were cut randomly a little longer and inserted between the two chunky timbers.  I took the wharf and tower out to the barn, checked fit, marked where the tower was to go, brought it back inside and glued the tower in position.

More soon, cheers, Mark.

Mark, it's coming together nicely.
Great colors on the wharf boards.

Outstanding Mark. This build just keeps getting better and better. Rick was correct about the coloring of the wharf.
