Today I cleaned the flash off the castings, windows and doors. They'll get a soapy bath prior to painting.

I also reviewed the wall parts and instructions. I have an idea of how I may kit bash Hollis but I'm still kicking the can down the road on it.

It will be interesting to see what you do with this kit when you're finished kicking the can down the road.

Cheers, Mark.

Nark,

Ha, I think I've come up with a solution I can live with. So, kicking the can down the road is over.

I'll have more detail and some photos tomorrow evening.

Cheers my friend,

I used the original kit walls to see how it fit in the space I had available.

This is how the kit, as built, fits in the space - not enough room!

If I turn the kit, as built, to the side it still doesn't fit and not pleasing to my eye.

More in a few.

Hey Tom:

Looks like you are off to a good start. I built that when it first came out. You may have a photo of it in your collection. It's a pretty neat kit.

After some thought, I used the side walls and came up with a solution that will work for me and fit in the space.

You can see I carried the rear second story across and to the front.

Karl,

Yes, you did and yes, I do. I'm finding I need to kit bash this one to fit my space.

Karl,

Here is how the new walls and structure look in the available space.

This still doesn't give me space for the aub assembly that fits on the right.

Some minor cutting is now required.

I took the two long walls and cut off a few scale feet to shorten the structure.

More in a few. I need a Diet Pepsi for the rest of this portion.  8)

My new wall and the original sub assembly.

And the angled wall section in place.

Since I made new main walls there is no need to use part of the kit. So, I made copies of all the other walls.

On the original walls the scribed siding boards were a scale 12 inches wide, I used scale 6 inch scribed siding for my copies.
