It looks great Tom. A fine addition to the layout.

John,

Thank you, much appreciated. I really love changing kits to fit my space.

Since I drastically changed the foot print, the structure will no longer fit the original site pad.

For the office area, I added a scale 4" thick concrete pad across the front.

I placed a piece of wood under the building and traced the front wall and corner trim on the new slab.

I then cut the wood and made a test fit. It did fit as planned. I then added a small step pad for the office door.

The new slab was removed and painted with full strength Floquil Aged Concrete. When the paint was dry and cured, I glued it in place.

More in a few.

I also made a concrete pad for the rear door. It was painted with the Floquil Aged Concrete but doesn't show in the photo below.

I lightly sanded the "pest control" sign using the backside of an Emory board. I pulled the Emory board down - for those living in Orlando, I pulled it down from top to bottom. 8) 8)  I then used PanPastel Burnt Sienna to weather the sign.

For the sign back, I edge glued some prestained 1X6's. I used two coats of Hunterline Medium brown A&I stain.

I chose to use the 1X6s as the back of the sign will be viewed and I didn't want to show cardboard.

I fingered painted some white glue tot he rear of the sign and pressed it onto the 1X6s.  The next day I used a new #11 blade to trim off the extra 1X6s.

Continued in a few more.

I removed the wings on the fly, and dipped them into Hunterline Medium Brown A&I and set aside to dry.

I painted the fly with full strength Floquil Roof Brown and added highlights of Floquil Antique White to the main body and legs. When dry, the fly body was dipped into Hunterline Light Gray A&I.

The wings were placed back on and highlighted with Hunterline Light Gray A&I. When the fly was dry, I glued it to the sign as shown.

The sign posts are scale 4X4s. The outside edges of the sign were trimmed with scale 2X2s.

For the office roof shingles I chose to use Northeastern Lumber shingles. Once glued in place, I used Prismacolor markers of green and gray for an individual shingle look. I got the Prismacolor markers from Sam Flax Art Supply.

I cut some individual shingles for the ridge caps.

I then weathered the other two roofs. I used four different colors of PanPastel grays.

Once all the roofs were weathered, I added the pest control sign.

Here is how the sign looks from the rear.

I'll finish this thread and have some final pictures tomorrow.
