Looking forward to tour "step-by-step" for finishing the engine terminal.

Ron,

Okay, I need to get with the updates. When this forum shut down, I joined RR Lines and the past two years have been missing all here, I posted.

Stay tuned.

Please bare with me as I get caught up on this thread. Many of you have seen some of this on RR Lines but others that didn't make the switch will see some new photos. Actually, I didn't post all the photos I have here on RR Lines.

That being mentioned, let's get started.

I started the ballast from the coaling tower to the turntable.

While the ballast was drying, I moved to the cinder/ash pit area.

I had a slopped ramp but this only allowed for one gondola to load.

I unscrewed the ramp, leveled it and removed the track and ballast.

I then removed a portion of the pit wall and used painter's tape to cover the saw gaps.

I then laid a longer section of track that will hold three gondolas.

The track was removed and a new wall was glued in place.

When dry, the clamp was removed and I cleaned the area and got the section of track ready to put down.

I then added the track and secured it to the plywood.

I weathered the track next.

Back in business. A small change but a huge difference in the area appearance.

I then positioned the coaling tower and added spilled coal around the tower base.

I added more of my father's ashes to the ash pit. NO, not his ashes but ashes from his cigars. I saved a jar just for this purpose.

I scratch built the small clean out rack and tools.

I added the two water columns. The water columns are NJ International brass. I added weeds and clear enamel for spilled water.

Here's a better view of the scratch built tool rack. The ash pit tower is Walthers. I painted it with Floquil Weathered Black and added a chain where Walthers had a string for the ash slide. I also made a different roof.

Tom, although I've already seen this on the RR-L, it's well worth seeing again.
You did a fantastic job building this yard.
