I agree with Dave re: drybrushing the shingles. Once you do, it'll be like you've enabled "HD"!

I bought an inexpensive set of stencil brushes of different sizes that I use for dry brushing.  I find the stiffer bristles allow me more control that using a brush with soft bristles. 

The alcohol ink wash definitely helped your roof to look more natural.
